Hello. Please do delete this comment if you so wish.

We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:

http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm

Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.

International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.

Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.

Lots of love

The Unfortunate Inciden…

Mar 17, 2009 2:16 AM

Hello,
We are playing the lovely Cardigan Arms on the 21st of March. Being foreigners from Sheffield, it would be grand if you could pop in and see us and bring a few other Leedsies with you if you are free.

Here are a few nice things people have said about us.
Have a listen on our page and see if you like what we are up to

"AN AMAZING LIVE ACT, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM AGAIN" (Sandman Magazine)

"AN IMPRESSIVE SET FROM A BAND WITH A KNACK FOR WRITING CATCHY SONGS AND DELIVERING THEM LIVE AS WELL AS IN THE STUDIO" (Sandman Magazine)

"PROMISING SONG WRITERS" (Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6)

"THESE DAYS I FIND THRASH AND POWER POP A BIT REPETITIVE, BUT THIS WAS REMINISCENT OF MORRISSEY WHILE STILL BEING PERSONAL, I HEAR THE POSSIBILITY OF A GOOD FUTURE. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU COULD SUPRISE US ALL ONE DAY".
(Paul Gambaccini, BBC Radio 6)

Anyway, it would be nice to see you there.

Hello, we are foreigners from Sheffield that will be playing Leeds on the 12th of December at the Cardigan Arms. It would be grand if you could come and make noise for us, as Sheffield folk are far too frightend to come to a big city like leeds.

Now then chief! Hope all's well. Just thought I'd give you (another) update! :)

The remix is still in development... slowly but surely! It's been held up by preparation for Casablanca Murder Scene's first gig this Saturday (i.e. writing songs so we actually have something to play!!) but once that's out of the way I'll be adding the finishing touches and chucking it back to you - I just hope you like it after all this waiting! Or if not, at least appreciate the effort that's gone into it, hehe! ;)

Did anyone else get back to you with remixes other than JND?

Dear [insert name here]

Please will you and your fellow MySpace friends listen to some songs I have written and recorded? I have posted them to my profile at www. myspace. com/benschrecker.

They took me ages and ages.

I did them all by myself, apart from the violins which Peter Ashton did, and the saxophone which Diane Hammond did for me. Oh, and Jed Skinner plays some drums. And the organ.

If you really like them, please could you listen to them again?

Thank you,

From Ben (aged 23)

May 15, 2008 5:26 PM

Cheers man - nah, haven't had it professionally mastered or owt, it's not quite finished yet. Just tickled it in Soundforge with a multi-band compressor followed by a maximiser, just to give it a bit of extra "oomph"!

Getting stuff mastered properly does make a hell of a difference though! I'd definitely recommend it once you're 100% happy (or near as dammit) with your tunes.

The remix is beginning to sound pretty spanking now (despite a lack of flow / structure at the moment!) - hopefully you'll be quite surprised with what I've done with it (and no, it's not a drum-n-bass remix!)

Dunno if you've heard any of our C*M*S* stuff? May give you a flavour for what other stuff we do...
