year 2010 marks the centennial anniversary of the mexican revolution -
a controversial and much criticized uprising that has been thoroughly
co-opted by neoliberal technocrats of the capitalist party system.
however, new forms of social organization, autonomy, self-management
and insurrection seem poised to shake these institutions and their
diseased siblings throughout latin america. in many struggles
throughout mexico, 2010 has become a symbol for future social rupture
and has been embraced as an enigma with which to contest and reinvent
the past. join us as we navigate the realities of these struggles
through the medium of film as the landmark year approaches.

For
the 10th year the Chicago Anarchist Film Festival will present a sample
of films from mainstream sources, rediscovered classics and the works
of filmmakers engaged in social change with an anarchist vision. Most
media of all types launch attacks that distort, discredit and deny
anarchists entirely. Anarchists and their allies respond with a
relentless volley of images and stories that reveal, revive and
invigorate a rich anarchist presence in society.

Chicago Anarchist Film Festival organizers seek un- and under-distributed
films and videos to include in the 2010 Chicago Anarchist Film
Festival. We also welcome suggestions for titles that may inadvertently
allow anarchy to seep through the cracks of the status quo. Movie
collage, music videos and trailers for works-in-progress will also be considered.

Ariel Attack, a Denver Bash Back!er, was arrested at 2:27am Tues, 24 here in Denver for allegedly smashing 11 windows of the Democratic Party headquaters at 777 Santa Fe Drive.

Right now, BB! and several other groups are trying to raise the bail money for her to get out of jail; her bail hearing will be tomorrow at 10am Denver time.  Several lawyers have told us to expect anywhere from between $3,000 to $10,000 in bail, and due to the high publicity of the case here in Denver, we are expecting higher (lead story for most all local news outlets, and being picked up by national news networks). 

At this moment, we do not know Ariel's status within the jail, especially regarding her gender classification.  We have been unable to talk with Ariel since she went in.  She is listed in the jail records and media under her birth name.  We also do not know what plans, if any, she had made for this situation. 

As such, Denver BB! and all of her friends and community are calling out hoping to raise the money to at least make bond.  Jail is a dangerous place for everyone, but especially trans people, and we make every effort to get our friends and comrades out.  We are also asking people to NOT call the jail and potentially out Ariel, which would create a very dangerous situation.  Interaction with the jail is being done by people here in Denver in very specific ways to create the maximum amount of safety possible for Ariel.

For everyone who missed out, last years Brew Not Bombs event was the
Political Party of the Year. The second annual Brew Not Bombs benefit hosted
by the Brew Not Bombs Collective-Chicago will be happening September 19,
2009. In the spirit of the "Food Not Bombs" movement this years event will
be a split benefit for the Cob Connection and Iraq Veterans Against the War
(IVAW) Chicago. The Cob Connection is a non for profit that promotes
sustainable agriculture on Chicago West Side and the IVAW is a group of
Veterans who have served since 9-11 who participate in educating the public
about militarism and the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Come out and sample one of a kind home brews (must be 21+), local
micro-breweries and partake or compete in this years Vegan Pizza Contest
(all you can eat pizza).

If that weren't enough this years event will feature out of town greats,
This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb and Defiance, Ohio along with other excellent music
acts! Rock Out. Eat Vegan Pizza. Drink one of a kind Brews. Take Brewing
Back from the Corporations and support positive local non for profits. Fun,

About this page:
I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D

I have Backers muscular dystrophy do not know how long I have to live I'm trying to get million friends for Disabled Civil Rights cause goal and short video Added me to your top friends please. Goal to have the Supreme Court Olmstead decision 6 to 3 Law enforced and have community-based programs for all who qualify for med waiver and consumer directed care which will save the taxpayers approximately 50% and provide opportunities for jobs instead of having disabled institutionalized or a nursing home. Also the George W. Bush presidential Executive Order 13217.Which means it has been designated a nationwide problem! To be Moses for all disabled people to remove the yoke the burden on our disabled back and set disabled people free.Keep Rock 'n rolling on!

CFP: Queering Parenting
A collection of essays to be published by Demeter Press Spring 2011 Edited by Susan Driver and Zoë Newman
A proliferation of experientially based essays, media stories, documentary films, television profiles, photographic essays and do-it-yourself manuals featuring lesbian mothers and gay dads have emerged to mark out cultural
discourses in which to understand lesbian and gay families. But while
these images and narratives enable positive representations that counter invisibility and marginalization, they often work to delimit transformative modes of thinking and acting beyond normalizing categories.
For LGBTTT2Q communities in Canada, the US, and Europe, family has been a site of struggle and invisibility, and has also been constructed as a site of transformation and pride, sometimes with the result that we have
sidelined interrogations of how 'queer families' are normative and
exclusionary. It is those troubling, ambiguous and unintelligible subjects
that do not fit neatly into parental discourses that need to enter into
public dialogues as part of a comprehensive project of queering parenting.

This book adopts a range of critically queer theoretical perspectives to
rethink the parameters of parenting and family beyond heteronormative
boundaries. Our goal is to engage with difficult knowledges and changing embodied parental experiences that include dynamic gender and sexual arrangements as they are lived through multi-layered racial, national and
class relations. Rather than list those identities that fit into a queer paradigm we encourage a more pliable framework that explores the
institutions, languages and contexts of parenting, complicating the ways powers shape alternatives to white middle-class heterosexual nuclear formations. Our interest is in fostering interpretive work on parenting that bridges articulations of intimate subjectivity, and analysis of broad
social and historical forces that cumulatively im
