KENNY MACINNIS	Dec 13, 2006 9:25 PM Why I Got Into Music So it all started about ten years ago, when my Dad retired from his factory. The family decided to move out of Hamilton to Chatham, Ontario. They asked me to come with them, saying that I could seek employment down there as I was having no luck in Hamilton. After about six and a half months of knocking on every door three times, I was not finding employment. There was no job to be found. One night I decided to ask God a question. I had never asked God a question before and I’d heard that you could do this. I heard that you had to be very specific in your question, so I thought about it and I thought I would do it. So that night, before bedtime, I decided to ask God my question. I asked, “God, what should I do to earn a living?” Just then, the beam of moonlight coming in through my window turned into a guitar. It was fully detailed; you could see the keys, the shape of the head, the cylinder, the string wound around the cylinders, the strings, the nut, the woodgrain and dots on the frets. It was so detailed that I was trying to look at the name of the guitar on the head. I could not believe my eyes, so I got out of bed, shook out the blinds. When the blinds settled, the guitar made out of moonlight was still on the wall. So I said to myself, “You want me to do music, you want me to play guitar? Are you sure? You must be, you’re God.” I thought, ‘Well, okay, maybe I could learn some favourite classic rock songs and play them in a local pub somewhere, I guess.’ And that’s how I got started in this business. The vision of the guitar lasted on my wall for three nights. At the end of the third night, it was no longer there. So I moved back to Hamilton. And the rest, they say, is history. True story.

He looked as if he’d been knocked unconscious to me; as though he’d flown into a nearby glass window or door. So I picked him up and held him in my hand and he opened his eye and looked at me. Then he closed his eye and it seemed like he went to sleep. So I couldn’t just leave him there. He might have been eaten by a cat or somebody might have stepped on him. I put him carefully in my kangaroo jacket pocket to provide shelter and warmth and I headed for home. The walk was about fifteen minutes long. When I arrived home I opened the balcony door of my eighteenth storey apartment and I reached in and gently lifted the little bird out of my pocket. I held him outside and he flew away. Little bird.
