Thank you SO MUCH! This was an amazing weekend, and the area was just as wonderful as the dancing!

I had such a blast, as cheesy as that may sound and I'm definitely applying for colleges near D.C. ;)

Looks like the last comment got cut off after the band member photos.


To hear less purely gypsy jazz tracks--like we played Sunday night--send Robert Bell a message through Myspace.
The Hot Swing Combo is looking into digital distribution prices but might end up sending out some traditional CDs for $10 + postage if digital distribution isn't feasible and there's enough interest in the CDs.

We traveled gypsy style (wearing the suits we played in, carrying nothing but our instruments and music) after the fashion of one of our favorite gypsy jazz musicians, so only 3 CDs and 3 DVDs made it to the show at Westminster Church.

While it may be early for congratulations, I must say I'm damn impressed. When we started this thing over five years ago, I don't think any of us thought it would become this successful. Happy Birthday! I have attended DCLX every year since its inception, even when I started my first year of law school, until 2004. From our venues, hosts, live music, DJ's and locations, we're the best exchange on the east coast - and the nation, maybe tied with the LA Binge ;-). I wasn't able to make it last year due to too much school work and this year cause I have to finish school. But everyone remembers my after hours party from 2 am to 7 am with Frank the Magician, a surprise birthday cake for Mike Faltesek and 12+ couples dancing in the living room, with Andy doing Scarface impressions upstairs. Every year I've hosted 25+ dancers. I firmly believe in hosting all those dancers who have hosted you for their exchanges, and hosts at DCLX are no exchange. Don't miss out on this amazing annual event of awesome music and dance!
