Blame Roman for the speaker set-up man. I was in Mexico when all that went down. But in other TOTALLY COOL news...

In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Paul McCartney revealed that he is trying to release a Beatles song that some swore didn’t exist. “Carnival of Light” is supposedly a 14-minute improvised psychedelic jam the band recorded in 1967 and was left off of the Anthology releases because it was “too adventurous.” “The time has come for its moment,” said McCartney, who is looking into getting approval from Ringo Starr and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison to release the track. “I like it because it’s like the Beatles free.

Mute is looking to get jiggy with the Northwest in early '09. Mute/Wound (mini-)tour? I'll call our handlers at Capitol and see how much Matamp and UHaul rentals run these days...

great hair, great sound, great structure, cool gear! But their aint nothin' cool about a guitar player who, when he plays live and positions his guitar strap where he does, can't pee over the top of his guitar. WHICH IS WHY DAVE IS SO FUCKING COOL! In other words, as many shredding notes as Dave plays every show...he will never need a pick...as long as he is circumcised.

Is it not enough that all of our bands involve each other and that we hang out and talk on GMail chat? Does it need to come to posting MySpace messages to each other from mutual ghost accounts while we're communicating simultaneously in other ways.

We're pathetic.

An open letter to Jerry Nielson:

Jack -- relax.
Get busy with the facts.
No zodiacs or almanacs,
No maniacs in polyester slacks.
Just the facts.
Gonna kick some gluteus max.
Its a parallax -- you dig?
You move around
The small gets big. its a rig.
Its action -- reaction --
Random interaction.
So whos afraid
Of a little abstraction?
Cant get no satisfaction
From the facts?
You better run, homeboy --
A facts a fact
From nome to rome, boy.

Whats the deal? spin the wheel.
If the dice are hot -- take a shot.
Play your cards. show us what you got --
What youre holding.
If the cards are cold,
Dont go folding.
Lady luck is golden;
She favors the bold. thats cold.
Stop throwing stones --
The night has a thousand saxophones.
So get out there and rock,
And roll the bones.
Get busy!

-Neil Pert's rap from the song Roll the Bones

...there's a 1000 saxaphones so get out there and rock?

...It's a parallax?

Pure genius. I bet "Parallax" has never been used before or since in a rap song. Do I have your attention Mr. Nielson?
Jay

Oct 20, 2007 10:49 PM

All the same, We take our chances
Laughed at by time, Tricked by circumstances, Plus a change, Plus cest la mme chose. The more that things change, The more they stay the same.

While I love saying Neil Pert ruined rush. It's that kind of lyric writing that make them genius.

look for more neil quotes in the future, including some where he raps. Neil Pert raps in the middle of the song Roll the Bones. I'm not kidding.

I'll listen to anything Crosby, even early '90s Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Even the dubiously titled 1989 release "OhYes I Can" (clearly a response to those who doubted his ability to get clean). I'd even watch the home video of him artificially inseminating Melissa Etheridge. If however, you want me to listen anything after Permanent Waves by Rush your going to need a hospital bed with restraints and all the morphine you can get your hands on!

Anyone who tells us we don't know how to make music should simply be directed toward this picture, that although not an audio object, still demonstrates with unflinching reality and precision, the proper recording techniques to achieve such emotion and truth as is found in Wolf-Horse/R.I.G.E.L.

Bought a metronome today...DR. BEAT!!!

Ah, the good ol' days...it seems like some fairytale that involved incessant loud music, mold clogging your lungs, flooding rooms, and messy houses. A dream that couldn't last.

I had to go and buy "American Stars N'Bars," "If Only I Could Remember My Name," and "Crosby & Nash" also...

Fuck! Stephen Stills is playing the Showbox on July 6th, effectively killing any draw we may have and possibly forcing us to cancel our performance so we can attend Stills' and heckle/worship him.

"There ya have it. I’ve gotta say, as cool and accurate as Wah Wah Exit Wound is, Beer Sandwich is a pretty radical band name, as well. And, of course, anything with “wolf” in the titled, as WWEW says, is hip by default. These dudes obviously hold Ph.D.s in band-naming–honorary Ph.D.s at least."
