★INGO STAR★	Dec 17, 2008 6:30 AM Assistant Fire Chief Charged In Puppy Beating A Los Angeles County assistant fire chief has been charged with allegedly beating a neighbor's puppy so severely it had to be euthanized. Glynn Johnson was arrested Tuesday at his home in Riverside County and the district attorney has filed felony animal cruelty charges against him. Johnson is accused of beating a 6-month-old shepherd mix with his fist and a 12-pound rock on Nov. 3. The injured dog was taken by its owner to a veterinarian, where it was euthanized. Investigators say Johnson told them he acted in self-defense and that the dog wounded his wrist and thumb. Los Angeles County Fire Chief P. I know how hard it is when your the only one that's fighting for the rights of others. People tell me that there's nothing I can do about it, and that I should just turn away. I just can't! I choose to keep fighting for those without a voice and its nice to know that I'm not alone.
