actually we are playing twice tomorrow and i noticed he had Black Bear Combo as a friend (of one of your sons' bands) with whom we've played a lot and the tuba player even flew out to record on this album we're doing here! Sat in Park Slope: Bar Aji at 287 9th St between 4th and 5th and then we roll on to another show at Bambalotto on N 4th and Bedford Ave. These are our last shows after living here and recording for 3 months. It would be cool if your son could come as I already noticed he is in the same loop. Then we are off to Mexico and Europe but after a good rest. We've been on the road for 9 long months!

your comment was very flattering and i very much enjoyed the flamenco singer. i actually lived in ecuador over a year and spent a month in spain. i am having an exhibit up at WPCA on oct. 31 is the reception- it's a Dia de los Muertos exhibit- also, a film and music release nov. 21 at Stonefly- when and where do you play flamenco with your son? llysa

I've played music forever so combined with a natural fetish for world history probably causes the musicology to occur, i'll admit i feel a little more safe with notes when i know where they come from or how they got there.

The triplets in Bulerias were really nice, so that was fun. My two faves would be Tarantas and especially Monterey. I have 2 songs that hint at flamenco; one is on the Facebook page called Will the Woman (circle version) and another song on the last.fm page for the yeai album, the song there is called Reconquista (por Jose). links to either page are in the about section on this Myspace profile.
