Hi Debs,

Certainly
not easy - in fact don't think there is much money in music photography but I
love it anyway.  But also it's not easy
that people 'expect' photos for 'free' - well especially for print promotions.  Don't know what the answer is.  I have added copyright notices on my sites
anyway.  Yes I'll be going to Celtic
connections 2010 all being well - its odd how the year rolls around.  Have a jazz commission soon - excited about
that.  Its been a great year for my
photos (taking Elton and Fleetwood) but I have personal problems not so great. I
took some cool shots at a small gig recently and thought that's what I enjoy.
You have some beautiful music shots there, well done.  Take care - keep in touch Paulinex

Hello Debs, it's been awhile since I've heard from you, glad to hear the festival went so well.  I'm fine, trying to develop and finish songs, various other projects, etc... Today I've been cleaning and switched out a pair of curtains, but now am moving on to music.  I see you did get your photos all changed, I love that new photo of the sheep!  Love, Lori xx

Don't ask... I'm getting loads of hassle with the brochure!!! Two gigs I've organised in the autumn (Bellevue Rendezvous and Rachel Hair/Delyth Jenkins, then Patsy Reid in the spring!

Mary Black isn't really my show... I just made the introductions!

It's a good effect.  I know what you mean about HDR, but it can be used to good effect, too.  I noticed you mentioned experimenting.  Did you find it successful?

My Dad used to take 3 pictures on different stops to be sure to get a good shot, but never combined them.  He was using a hand held light meter in those days, mind you.

Hi Debs
Cropredy was fabulous, if a little tiring on our old bones! Weather was tremendous - very sunny, very hot. A curious mix of music, with the Fairport set being the highlight, especially the 6 songs by Yusef/Cat Stevens. With the crowd shouting for "Father & Son", he was so relaxed saying "please don't ask for that one . . . we haven't rehearsed it", and went on to play a stunning version of "Peace Train". Personally he was our highlight (although Ralph McTell was marvellous and a blistering set from Richard Thompson). We didn't do any playing, but did drink a lot, slept very little and survived on cheese/ham toasties and burgers. Altogether a wonderful time . . . we've come back to have a rest. Met some lovely new people and caught up with some internet friends - remarkable 3 days!
Hope you're well and life is treating you well, hugs - Carolyn & Mark xx

Thanks for the comments Debbie. I have been very happy to be able to do the three tips this summer! We're just coming to the end of our week's holiday at the seaside at Zandvoort in Holland  (back tomorrow). We've been so lucky with the hot and sunny weather - even 30 degrees on Wednesday - but we're pleased it's cooler today for a visit to Amsterdam. We've also been to the stunning island of Texel and the lovely town of Haarlem. Hope you're enjoying your break and the new car. I've been getting to grips with driving our left-hand drive hire car this week! Andy xx

Hello Debs!  How are you?  Things sound as if they are going well, new car and a fortnight off!  I'm sure you'll enjoy all of that!  How did your camping trip go?

I'm glad you liked the craft books photo, it's taken years to gather that selection of books!

My head's buzzing today from recording tracks and mixing songs.  I spent two hours straight on one song today, I've heard enough of it for now...Love, Lori xx

I've been back at work for a couple of weeks (except last Monday coming back from Scotland) since Latvia but looking forward to a two-week break from this weekend. Sadly we we're in a hurry as I almost lost our fligh!! So it was imposible to visit. But some day... for sure...

Hope you're ok and also have some exciting holidays!!
