has been selected to KIEZKIEKEN shortfilm contest.

Our movie will be shown Sunday Nov 1st, 18:30 at
Hoppetosse/Arena, 12435 Berlin, Eichenstraße 4.

You will see humorous, extraordinary and exciting
short films. The most important factor is originality.
It’s the neighbourhood that is our programme – the
locations, the atmosphere, the characteristics and
after all the uniqueness.

KIEZKIEKEN wants to link art and life and to provide a
platform for a cultural exchange. The programme will
be designed around the respective neighbourhood.
The award winners will be chosen by the audience.

KIEZKIEKEN Sunday Nov 1st, 1830 SCREENING

To finish off with the festival, bands from Berlin will
give you the opportunity to celebrate together with
film makers, guests and the audience.

Pompeii veröffentlichten kürzlich ihr neues Album "Nothing Happens For A Reason" auf Eyeball Records (Tiger Lou, An Albatross, Wolftron). Im September kommen sie nun endlich auch nach Europa. Man darf sich auf perfekt vorgetragene IndiePopSongs im Stile von Death Cab For Cutie, Moving Mountains oder Appleseed Cast freuen.

Grand Pocke Orchestra (Irland, Rcrd Lbl)

Sie haben innerhalb eines Jahres mehr Gehörgänge und Clubeinrichtungen zerstört als manch andere Band in ihrer ganzen Karriere. Und das, obwohl man dem Grand Pocket Orchestra aus Irland kein erhöhtes Aggressionspotenzial zuschreiben würde, wenn man sich nur auf den Genuss ihrer Tonträger beschränkt. Angenehmer Gänseblümchenpop im Stile von Animal Collective ist da zu hören, den auch Notwist-Mann Mario Thaler zu schätzen weiß. Er war so begeistert vom GPO, dass er sich aufmachte nach Dublin und dort Songs mit ihnen produzierte.

on their self-titled album, the terrordactyls' quirky, lighthearted yet decidedly melancholic pop/anti-folk  tunes are augmented by toy pianos, kazoos, and the voice of kimya dawson (the moldy peaches, juno).  despite all these charming trappings, though, nothing really serves to take the edge off the terrordactyls'  gutsy interpretation of the sad sweetness (or sweet sadness) of living.

Seit nunmehr 13 Jahren existiert die Band bereits. Zahlreiche Liebhaberplatten haben sie veröffentlicht und setzen dies nun auf Secretly Canadian fort. Wunderbar weltfremder und raumgreifender Pop ist das der hier detailnärrisch erdacht wurde. 2006 sind sie auf dem Soundtrack des Sofia Coppola Films "Marie Antoinette" vertreten gewesen. Sicher ist da noch ordentlich Platz nach oben für diese fantastische Band.

Sonnige Sommergrüße aus der Schauspielschule Berlin!
 
Wir haben noch fast drei Wochen Ferien vor uns, bevor im September der Unterricht wieder beginnt. Bald schon stehen dann die ersten Präsentationen des Herbsttrimesters ins Haus... und außerdem ist eine neue Klasse da.
 
Für Kurzentschlossene gibt es übrigens am 29.August noch eine Aufnahmeprüfung...  
 
Wir wünschen all unseren Freunden noch einen schönen Sommer.

Hamburger Musikunfallgruppe HUNGER ihre neue CD.
Es ist ihre nunmehr fünfeinhalbte CD in 13 langen Jahren, und sie
ist besonders schön geworden und soll daher mit einem besonderen
Spektakel an diesem besonderen Ort feierlich begangen werden, auch
wenn das Spektakel vielleicht nur darin besteht, dass eines der
seltsamen Conzerte stattfindet, für die HUNGER auf der ganzen Welt
heimlich geliebt werden, vielleicht passieren aber auch noch andere
tolle Dinge.
Das launige Duo erwartet euch mit einer gewagten Mischung aus
kaputten Keyboards, verstimmtem Gesang, verrosteten Trompeten und

Die Bumsdorfer Gerüchteküche ist tot! Es lebe der Komische Salon in der KaufBar! In dieser Reihe gibt es nach der Sommerpause jeden Monat Themenabende, Buchpräsentationen, Gastspiele und natürlich auch eine neue Lesebühne mit Braunschweigs bestgekleideten Schriftstellern und Schriftstellerinnen.

Den Auftakt macht mit Allein unter Müttern eine Lesung über das Leben mit Kindern und anderen Menschen.
Ob vorgetäuschte Co-Schwangerschaften, gemeingefährliche Kinderwagenrennen, zeitraubende Taschengeldverhandlungen oder spontane Reviermarkierungen auf dem Spielplatz – dass das Zusammenleben mit Kindern nicht nur der reinste Irrsinn, sondern auch irrsinnig komisch ist, werden Axel Klingenberg, Frank Schäfer und Thorsten Stelzner mit dieser Lesung unter Beweis stellen. Sie berichten aus ihrem Alltag mit Frau und Kind, lassen zu Vergleichszwecken ihre eigene Kindheit Revue passieren und geben wagemutige Erziehungsratschläge. Vielleicht gelingt es ihnen sogar, glaubhaft zu machen, dass Väter die besseren Mütter sind.
