I was lounging on my futon yesterday and enjoying a refreshing diet root beer when I heard this band playing somewhere outside my window. Just as I was thinking, "That guy strums like Dean Wareham," somebody starting singing the first few lines of "Tugboat." So I immediately ran down the road to the Upper Crust patio where the band was setting up and I asked them if they'd heard of Burger Kingdom, and one of the guys said he had. I told them to come to the show on Friday. Oh yeah: They're called Cantalouper. Kind of an Archers of Loaf guitars + Stephin Merritt vox thing going on.
