Hey, it's good to hear from you! Maybe sometime when you're on AIM we can catch up. I can regale you with stories of my horrible job and my recent trip out to California to visit some of my friends. ...damn, I shoulda tried to set up a visit with you! But trust me, I'll be going back, so I can catch up to you then if that interests you at all. Anyway, we definitely would have a lot to talk about if we talked, so why not?

Thank you Becky. Your words were very true and very encouraging! Nobody, no matter what, is getting me to back down from keeping this page up; there are so many pro-life pages out there full of bias and propaganda, people are entitled to know the truth.

So I says to Mabel, I says-

Oh, it's Becky! Well, O ye who shares the name of my sister, allow me to tell you the history of the name Mabel in television.

Mabel's first real fame began on the hit load of crap "Leave it to Beaver" during a scene in which Wally said the famous line to Beaver "So I says to Mabel, I says-" only to have the line cut short by his non-voting mother. Their mother asks the boys a question, possibly pertaining to their father, Ward, and then she leaves. Wally repeats "So, anyways, I says to Mabel, I says-" only to be cut off again by a scene change.

Somewhere around the mid 70's, Asian explorer Christopher Columbus found a delicious syrup which he named after the scene, calling it "Mabel Syrup". However, Viking explorer John Wilkes Booth, known worldwide for stealing things from Columbus took the idea for himself and called it "Maple Syrup". The latter idea skyrocketed in sells.

For nearly 2 full decades it appeared as though the fame of the name Mabel had died and that it would never appear in television again. Luckily, in the most certainly awful show Mad About You, the couple (Paul and Jamie) had a child which they named Mabel, an acronym for Mothers Always Bring Extra Love. Mabel was back on track!

On an episode of the Simpsons which aired shortly after the new millenium, the classic Leave it to Beaver scene was done anew using the name Mabel and all. Bart said the lines of Wally, while Lisa listened inquisitively like Beaver. Marge was the one who stopped the line from progressing, and as always it was a scene change that stopped it the second time.

Today, the Mabel scene is performed time and time again by contemporary recording pioneer and super pimp teenagers Alex Curto, 18, and Brian Walker, 17. Many consider this not quite being on television but it's a well known fact that Curto and Walker are fans of rapper Mike Jones (www.whomikejones.com) and he's been on TV. So that is the next best thing.
