beauty dishes are really great for real dramatic lighting. i worked with some on a fashion shoot with a great photographer named billy jarrell. i love umbrellas they're really versatile, they can second as soft boxes. you can get double sided reflectors for not too much and they're great if you need to throw splashes of light someplace. barn doors are also fairly inexpensive. pocket wizards are always a good investment.

I saw you and your boyfriend last night at the show, outside goofing around and taking pictures. I guess I'm kinda socially awkward, because I just couldn't bring myself to say "Hi, I'm Alex, didn't you friend me on myspace the other day?"

I was the guy lounging by myself with a giant chrome gun covered with rhinestones and pretending to be a belt buckle :)

Anyway I'm glad I went even though I didn't talk to anyone - there was some really awesome work there. Some of the mixed-media stuff in the back room was extremely impressive.

BTW, your hair is just stunning in person! :)
