Alien Graffiti's Electric Toothbrush

Hi Noradrenaline, ever wanted to know how it sounds like when an electric toothbrush is penetrating an electric guitar running through a full blown Marshall amp?

Now you can! Alien Graffitti takes part in the Yello 'Bostich' remix contest on Beatport (the leader in electronic dance music downloads for DJs and club music enthusiasts).

The Alien Graffiti remix is called BOSTICH GOES ROCK|Not What You Expected.

The intro sounds like a machine, but indeed it's an electric toothbrush and my green monster guitar. I also added some real played electric guitars, right hand tapping and a mongolian horse head fiddle to that milestone in electronic music from 1984. Want to compare it to the original Bostich version on youtube?

Ömer Özkaya was not born into a musical household. 28 years ago his family had only a black and white television and a radio for listening to music on, and none of his family members owned or played any musical instruments. His only musical experiences at that age came from watching the performance of ‘Sunday concerts’ after the introduction of colour television, although he was too young to appreciate these properly.

During his elementary school years he lived in a small village in a forgotten corner of Anatolia, and it was here that he first discovered and learned to play a musical instrument. The recorder is closely associated with Anatolian tradition and folk music, and as the young child enjoyed learning and playing the instrument so the village began to develop and re-discover its own musical traditions. Shortly afterwards he was introduced to playing keyboard instruments, which he preferred to the woodwind sound, and began to concentrate on learning these.

It was at elementary school that he first discovered and learned to play a musical instrument. The recorder is closely associated with Anatolian tradition and folk music, and it captured the imagination of the young child, sowing the seeds of his lifelong love of music.

His first performances were playing and singing at family gatherings, but as his talent developed so did his love and enjoyment of music. After completing his basic education he enrolled at Ankara Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi (Anatolian Fine Arts High School) in order to continue his education in the subject he loved.

At this school he began to learn first the cello and later on the guitar, which he particularly loved, and excelled at both. After graduating from the High School he trained as a teacher and joined the Department of Fine Arts at the Gazi University in Ankara. He taught there for many years, and managed to conti

Uusia biisejä vai? siistiä, tuskin maltan olla kuulematta niitä. :) ...mitäs mulle? hmm, no tää syksy on ollut aikalailla tylsä ja masentava, en oo saanut mitään luovaa aikaiseksi, oon vaan ollut ja murjottanut. Keskittynyt lähinnä kaikkeen muuhun turhaan ja typerään, kuten kouluun. Hah :D ...ja moneen muuhun mitkä ovat häirinneet keskittymistäni taiteen luomiseen, joka taas saa mut aika "epätasapainoiseksi" jos niin voi nyt sanoa? Mutta joops, elämää tää vaan on. :)

Paljon on asioita joita ei oikein koskaan osaa selittää saati ymmärtää.
