Jesus Online	Oct 1, 2006 6:59 PM Initial response to the "friends only" sneak peek of Pope Hilarious (great title, by the way): 1. Analagous Considerations Drawn from the Dream State: I distinctly remember this one live, and it's a fantastic recording. I love the instrumentation and you know the fucked up time signatures are a dick-tickler. The odd transitions are done very well and the shifts from raucous cacaphony to sonically pleasing aural hand-jobs are the best part of this track. Great way to kick shit off. 2. Requiem for Rodeo Clowns: I don't even know what the fuck to say about this one. Fuckin' nice. Not your run-of-the-mill, hip, three-minute ditty. 3. Professional Courtesy: I dig this one a lot. Great vocals. It's your acoustic sing-along track! Brendan is Jesus. You guys do dissonance well, that shit's not easy. 4. Filler: Nice bass line right off the bat. The groove is awesome. I love how the guitar barely sounds like one, it becomes some kind of a percussion instrument with little bits of guitar sound coming through. 5. Al the Bastard: Sounds like a dream where Arkham Asylum is having a Halloween party and someone spiked the punch with elephant tranquillizers,probably the Joker, and the room is spinning. I love the guitar on this one. Overall the EP sounds great even though this is a rough cut. Your sound is unique and I envision it being very difficult to capture on a recording, but you did. My only suggestion would be to maybe lower the vocals in the mix as they become overpowering sometimes and it takes away from the music. Other than that, fuckin' rockin' shit, fellas. Once we get ourselves back on our feet we must tour with Traces of Red to become the Unstoppable Enema Trifecta, otherwise known as Voltimus Cubed.
