I interviewed you boys for Whisperin' and Hollerin' (Dave and Paul) before a gig at Night & Day in Manchester. Your new record was just out, and your drummer was still on his way back from Sweden, after falling in love there. It was Friday, a dead sunny summers' evening, and we went to a bar where they sell pink/orange coloured house scrumpy. I remember Paul asking me for a Magniers, and him getting lager (nerves, sorry mate!) - we sat on metal beer kegs out the back to do the interview - I'm a shitty interviewer, but you were both cool, and threw in loads of quotes for me, despite being dead tired. Your gig was fucking ace. On the way back to the venue you told me about pals of yours that were big chongers, whose heads were in semi-permanent meltdown. I thought that this was a wee piece of advice from y'both, or maybe that I reminded you of your chong-head pals? I know how much you train travelled, and worked your balls off, and the music was tight, and full of quality.Your stage presence was brilliant: You entertained! I hope you had a brilliant farewell gig - if you are ever in Manchester, don't heasitate to let me know, I'll buy yis a bevy - If you hear any decent bands you would recommend to anyone, please recommend them to me. If you FORM another group, or start another musical project, you must let me know about it. All the very best to you all, and to Scott your manager, with whatever you do in life. Starting the week on Tuesday 9th Oct is Crawford Smith on a busmans holiday from his own successful acoustic night The Southside Sessions @ Linen. Also on the bill are the excellent David Hardie and a cracking return from Micheal Jack. On Thursday 11th Oct we have 3 debuts at the sessions from Lost In Motion, The Indra and A.S.S.O.A. Completing the line-up is the mercurial David Bova (Acousticbug) fresh from a support slot on The Waterboys recent UK tour.
