LARS LÖFGRENS songs are hopeful and dreamy, but it has that underlying sense of reality to it. His blog does the trick: “Soul is something that you feel from within, and you do it spontaneously. It’s not something that you learn to do, and it’s not something that you read and you do it. You have to have a natural feeling for it.” It’s good to see music like this coming out of a place like Karlstad. I visited in March – it’s a tiny town where nobody works but nobody does much else. They ride their bikes around and wait for the sunny weather. The singer and former of the band, David, had grown tired of daydreaming in the metal factory where he worked and decided to do something with his musical ideas, other than bang bang. The band finds its inspiration from the 90’s Mid West Emo scene and forms it into their own Nordic style. The result is smart melodic guitar melodies with the melancholic voice of David which is the grounding and sound of the Gentle act incident. August 2009 Jenseits von Millionen, das heißt: ein kleines Musikfestival abseits der Massen. Auf dem Land, aber nicht weit weg von der Metropole Berlin, mit ausgewähltem Lineup aus Singer/Songwriter, Folk, Indie Pop/Rock, Postrock, Elektro und allem, was man nicht definieren kann. Jenseits von Millionen heiß, zweifach Gutes zu tun.Mit der Musik und der Atmosphäre, die im Innenhof der Burg Friedland, umgeben von Kleinststadtcharme und Wald und Wiesen, entsteht und wohl für die deutsche Festivallandschaft einigermaßen einzigartig sein dürfte.
