many geologists incorrectly believe they were due to tectonic plate movement.

Dude, I just heard about the city council shooting in your hometown. (I suspect ((and hopefully I'm right)) that your family is all fine..??..) Crazy. A few months ago, in Salina, a school board member (whose wife was a teacher) threatened to 'go all Columbine' at his child's school. Small town America. Wow.

On a more pleasant note: When I got home yesterday there was a package for Seth. My curiosity was peaked, but I had to wait until I had returned from the gym/he'd gotten home from work to revel in the surprise. The purchase (which I know you'll appreciate)? A freakin' t-shirt with a picture of Whiplash doing what he does best - riding some dog. It's all, like, artsy, complete with a faded image of Whiplash, sure to make him seem like the ultimate badass cowboy-esque figure. I'm sure you'd heartily approve.

Matt, pray tell, what's going on in this photo? Reading or magic? (Or, are you showing us that reading IS magical?)

ps I've got two jazz cds done, but I want to do one more bf I send them off. (No, I'm not making this up to save face, I really do have two made. Ironically, I got the Oscar Peterson part finished - then he died.)

I think I like Justin better with the jew-fro. Makes him seem less "cool" and thus more appealing.

Considering the fact that the last time I saw you was in 2005, please describe to me in full detail how the Matthew Webber of 2008 fares in comparison. We don't talk enough. Every time I drive by Kohl's, I think of you.

This band Sybris just added me and I was blown away. They're playing Mill Walk Key or maybe they played there recently and it made me thank of you. Hopefully you digg 'em too Matt.
By the way, I really liked the story. You're not gonna believe this, but that's exactly how Ween was started. No really, look it up.

Oh man. Surprisingly, from Moneymakers I like "Smile" the best because the lyrics empower me to tell the ex where he can stick it. Musically, probably Eisley. On Tarantulas, you should know that I am a huge fan of Rufus Wainwright, Common, Wilco, The White Stripes, and Elliott Smith. But I'd never heard Lupe Fiasco and I quite enjoy that track. From volume 2 of Best. Songs. Ever. I love pretty much everything. A lot of it reminds me of everything I was listening to around the age of thirteen or fourteen. Spacehog. Classic. The only song I skip is U2. Never really been a fan. Not sure why. I probably just think Bono is annoying.

I also enjoyed your story. You are quite clever Matthew Webber.

I'm listening to Carla Bruni, Sarkozy's girlfriend, on her myspace site right now. Seems right up your alley. Plus, there's photos of her playing guitar in her undies.

Considering your proximatey to Chi-town you may know about this already but I recently discovered a show called Sound Opinions on Chicago Public Radio. It's a critic from the Sun-Times and one from the Tribune just talkin' music.

Matt! Love ya! I really do. In this time of thanks (which I hate that we limit to one holiday per calendar year - I think it should be on a lunar cycle or something, but I digress) I want to share my gratitude that you are still a friend. You provide a shocking amount of amusement considering your distance. :) Stay real. Namaste.

As long as I'm riding a wave of celebrated recommendations, I'll hang 10 again and tell you to rent "The Terminal" which we discussed in Chicago.
There's ample sexual tension between Catherine Zeta Jones and Tom Hanks, and Stanley Tucci is in fine form as an oppressive airport security manager.
It's seriously a great little movie. Like "Reservoir Dogs," it's the kind of thing that would make a great play.
Jessica

Oct 25, 2007 1:16 PM

Are you talking about Seth's (my boyfriend) profile pic? The monkey riding the dog? Yes, this possibly is the 8th wonder of the world and yes, he'll be delighted to know that others revel in his pic. (But, I probably won't tell him, for the ego is already inflated enough - I watched baseball with him and he got to "teach me," stuff.) Did my sis e-mail you? (She was afraid to e-mail you about the concert b/c "your friends are good writers and if I e-mail this guy, he'll think I'm stupid, 'cuz I can't write.) She's in the medical profession. Philistine...
