Dear Albany Library and Friends,
Thank you for joining me at my new MySpace site, FINISHING TOUCHES MARY (http://www.myspace.com/finishing_touches_mary).
Having you with me is indeed a pleasure.
Since time immortal, humans have found various ways to communicate. With the advent of writing, civilization as a whole has grown and expanded in knowledge. If it were not for the written word, we would know so little of the various cultures before us, and it is imperative that we too, leave our ‘footprint in the sand’ of history today, enabling future generations to know and understand us.
I do hope you and your friends will visit me at my site, where I feature some of the most celebrated, avant-garde writers, artists, and producers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
So please ensure you peruse some of our forthcoming blogs and bulletins, as I am certain you will be poised to endorse them as well.
All my personal best,
Mary

It will be available in bookstores everywhere next week, and it’s available for preorder on Amazon right now! I'll be doing a bunch of events in and around Philadelphia. For details, see my profile.
Thanks for the friendship!
Writing as D. H. Dublin, Jon McGoran is author of Blood Poison and Body Trace from Penguin Books. Look for Freezer Burn, coming June 2008.

WMM New Release! TILLIE OLSEN: A HEART IN ACTION
Renegade, writer, feminist, humanist, labor organizer and social activist - Tillie Lerner Olsen countered the very core of American writing by immortalizing the lives of working class women and single mothers. Ann Hershey’s documentary is an inspiring homage to Olsen, whose life and work encompassed a century of the most critical events of our time.

Hey,
Happy Monday.
Back to work today after a week with the kids for spring vacation.
I'm starting line editing today on my new book. I'm still on track for October. Right now I'm waiting to hear from my first pre-reader and hopefully this week I'll see the first draft of the Sin and Vengeance Screenplay.
Hopefully it's going to be a great week.

A poem provided in observance of National Poetry Month.
Crystal Clear Blue Skies
Towers weep on peaceful shores.
Crystal clear blue skies.
Across the water, we answered the call,
Never questioning why.
Race over the berm and down the road,
Rebuilding ancient Babylon.
Smiles, waves, and shouts of joy.
Gratuities of hidden fire and roadside bombs.
Blistering sun and mouths full of sand,
White salt stains chalk the skin.
Handshake through a turret gun sight,
Peace attempted to win.
Pain, anxiety, disillusionment,
Seek comfort in each other.
Go back again, one more time,
Only for my sister or brother.

Hello Albany County P.L. - thank-you very much for your friendship! Books were my constant friend through childhood, and that relationship has only deepened & become even more rich over time. Libraries are a big part of that.
I'd be very honored if you would introduce my book to your readers :)
Rai Aren, co-author of Secret of the Sands
"A deep probing mystery riddled with prophecy and danger, Secret of the Sands uses Egypt and her mythology as a backdrop to delve into the meanings of life and religion." -McNally Robinson
For 12,000 years a dark and deadly secret has been hidden deep below the Great Sphinx of Giza. In present day Egypt, a frightening, yet awe-inspiring story unravels as archaeologists race against time to decipher an ancient truth...
