I remember when i found out you don't like music. It was so weird. It was also the day I found out you kill plants and don't drink wine at home when you're alone.
I should have hated you but it strangely made me love you more

Rachel, nice to meet you!
The au pair in your book makes me think of a song by Macy Gray - of course I can't remember the title.
I do love the design of your book cover: innocent childish stripes combined with seductive female hurt and loneliness.
All the best!
Frances

Unsaid

Jan 19, 2008 10:38 AM

"Although only three issues of Unsaid have appeared thus far, the journal has already established itself as the most aesthetically distinguished and daring journal since Gordon Lish's groundbreaking The Quarterly. In fact, Unsaid is in many ways the only true descendant of The Quarterly in its commitment to publishing only that which is entirely unfrivolous and genuinely original."

Gary Lutz, Author of Stories in the Worst Way and I Looked Alive

Had your book on my "to read" pile for a long time (slowly working my way through a phase of reading the lives of Impressionist painters and Victorian writers) and have to say it was a real treat when I finally cracked the spine. You capture the quirks of humanity quite well. Bravo!

Rachel Sherman! We loved your book, and remember well when you read from it at a tragically under-attended Nova-related thing in Chicago.

Send us a story? We make them into mini-books.
