Thank you. It was very good. We had some singing and guitar(including a rather abrupt, but none the less very well done, power solo which terrified the rector and the school minister guy to the point I was sure one of them would faint), some saxophone pieces, a trumpet piece, and a piano and accordion piece, and my reading of "The Days Flash Past Us"!
It was a very well rounded event...

Thank you again for the kind words.

Well because I needed a poem that talked about life/growing up. Also, the fact you both went to the school. :)

Hey Kevin, how are you? Haven't spoken in a while so thought we'd say hello! We were back in the studio and have pretty much completed the mix of the album. We've added some sounds to Colombian Fireworks and the rest - it's all sounding great. We'll get the final mix tomorrow i think, and get it mastered soon after. Will send you a copy asap, and hope you like the new and improved version.

Take care,

adam

An eala dubh

She came from an Caolas Idhe

To the shores of am Barraigh

Where she rested

With the Kings and Queens of the Sea

And then to her homeland of Na Hearadh

She would flee

And lay her eggs in the Holy ground of Roghadal,

Where her feathers painted

With the colours of night covered

The mountains of Cliseam, Toddun and Roneval in darkness

And for a hundred years

Na Hearaich would pray for the light of day once more.

But when her eggs did break

The sunrise of salvation was seen

Upon an t-anam a'ghaoil

And an eala dubh flew away to Ifrinn

Never to return.

I know - and we could have done a live Colombian Fireworks as the newest rock n roll literati collective.
Next time! If the alternative is a book, there is no loss x

well well well trust the astute poet to finally notice the deliberate mistake!!!!

In Brian Friel's Translation's one of the characters is called Owen/Roland depending on whether you are Irish or English, this was amalgamated to Rowen and Oland - ie a man with no home.

I merely stole the idea.....

how are things in Kevinworld?...and I cant believe you are changing the title of Singing.....or do you have another project in mind for it.....or perhaps are all novels going to be Singing for the Blue Men but released under another name.....

Eilean An Fhraoich
I look to the sky

Eilean An Fhraoich
You know not fear

Eilean An Fhraoich
The years run dry

Eilean An Fhraoich
I belong in your arms

Eilean An Fhraoich
The days draw near

Eilean An Fhraoich
I whistle your charms

Eilean An Fhraoich
Parting with such sorrow

Eilean An Fhraoich
Yet we sing of love

And to the end of the world I will follow

She was the snow-lily,
the lament of the roe
and the scent of the fern
and by the melting burn
I found her:

Am Bainrigh na Mara Geal
Terry the Squirrel

Sep 23, 2008 4:40 PM

From the rocks of Reinigideal
She rises and crosses the hills of Cliseam
Where she stands amongst the white deer,
Raising her hands to the glorious sun
In worship of Soileireachd Na Hearadh
As the elegant sand reflects her beauty,
And within the pine of the ancient Glen
She calls her name for the mountains to hear:

"Marsaili Ban-Dia na Fireannaich"
