IT IS AN ISLAND WHICH IS VERY FAR NORTH IN CANADIAN WATERS. THEY CALL IT 'THE ROCK' BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE MOUNTANOUS TERRAIN. ITS PRETTY BEAUTIFUL OUT HERE. LITERALLY, YOU SEE MOUTAINS WHEN YOU GET OFF THE BOAT. GETTING HERE WAS A LITTLE NUTS. THE PLANE WAS DELAYED 5 HOURS!!! ANYWAYS, I DECIDED TO BREAK OUT MY LAPTOP AND START MIXING IN THE GATE FOR A FEW NEW FRIENDS I MET THERE, AND A YOUNG COUPLE FROM RUSSIA (WHOS BEER BUZZ WAS WEARING OFF). ANYWAYS, SOME OLD DUDE CAME TO COMPLAIN THAT IT WAS ANNOYING SO WE TOLD HIM TO GET EAR PLUGS AT THE SOTR OR WALK TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GATE (THERE WERE LIKE 20 OF US THERE). ANYHOW, HE WENT TO GO GET SECURITY, AND I QUICKLY MIXED OUT OF F.T.C. (MY NEW HIT TRACK) IN TO FRANK SINATRA'S "NEW YORK nEW yORK". THE SECURITY GUARD -- WHO WAS FRENCH -- CAME OVER AND I EXPLAINED TO HIM IN FRENCH THAT "HEY, ITS JUST SINATRA MAN, HOW CAN YOU HATE ON SINATRA, WANNA SING ALONG"? at THIS POIN HE JUST LAUGHED AND WALKED AWAY, AND I MIXED BACK IN TO F.T.C. (SINATRA IS AN INTERESTING ARTIST TO MIX WITH, LOL) SO I GOT IN TOWN, AND STAYED AT A BED AND BREAKFAST -- MAN MY ROOM WAS BIG!!! THE PEOPLE OUT HERE ARE PREDOMINENTLY IRSH, AND HAVE AN ACCENT VERY SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE IRISH. THE PARTY SCENE OUT HERE IS PRETTY CRAZY. TONIGHT, ALL OF THE STUDENTS WENT OUT FOR ONE LAST PARTY AND HIT GEORGE STREET -- A STREET LITTERED WITH BARS. NONE OF THE BARS ARE PARTICULARLY LARGE IN SIZE, BUT ITS THE ATMOSPHERE THAT MAKES IT CRAZY HERE IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF ST JOHNS (ABOUT 120K POP). THE LOCALS HAVE A CUSTOM OF MAKING OUTSIDERS GET 'SKREETCHED IN'. ITS LIKE A RITUAL TO MAKE YOU ONE OF THEM. WHAT U HAVE TO DO IS DRINK A SHOT OF NEWFOUNDLAND RUM, CALLED SKREETCH, AND THEN KISS A COD'S ASS!!! I AM SURE THERE IS INFO ABOUT THIS ON THE NET. THE GIRLS ARE
