i just ate grits for the first time!

when you sent me that message that you were leaving i ran out to the front of the hotel but could not find you. it was sad. i tried following your scent, but got it confused with someone else who reeks of awesome. i was in the middle of a bean field before i turned around to go back.

this is all true, especially the part about the grits.

Dorothy Wilcox is hosting a Poetry Open Mic starting Tuesday, April 1st at The Metro Lounge(505 Westcott St). It starts at 7pm. She doesn't have access to myspace and asked me to do some promotion.

If you wanna show up, that'd be great. And if you could post a bulletin for all the poets out there, it'd be much appreciated.

Knowing your affinity for poetry, I thought you would like this:

This is a short poem made up entirely of actual quotations from George
W. Bush. These have been arranged, only for aesthetic purposes, by
Washington Post writer, Richard Thompson. A wonderful poem like this is too good not to share.


MAKE THE PIE HIGHER


I think we all agree the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of manmen and uncertainty
And potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet
Become more few?

How many hands have I shaked?
They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
