VAGUEvague paper

Jun 14, 2008 7:15 PM

Vague Paper issue 4 out now

Editor’s Letter-Anna Summour-

Heath’s dead, teens are dead – the Queen however is not dead (in fact she’s on her way to becoming the longest reigning monarch) Diana’s not allowed to be dead, Amy Smackhouse/Crackhouse/Outhouse-Churchmouse-Civil is the walking dead and her mother fears she will be dead in a month. Britney is on the rocky road to killing herself and Tom Cruising-for-boys should probably be considering it. Death is really where it’s at this season and as ever Vague has its finger firmly on the pulse. So welcome to the ‘death’ issue where I for one will be taking lots of tips from our very own she-devil: Dumber than Jamie Lyn Dyke. Read her fascinating account of the chicest ways to bite the dust where she takes us to the edge and back in a flourish of pills, pistols and prescribed narcotics.
Killing yourself is all very well but just what exactly do you do for kicks afterwards? Here at Vague we make it our business to bring you the hottest parties, award do’s, weddings involving people you’ve never heard of, impromptu ‘dog’s first shit’ parties and not forgetting the V interesting ‘famous for doing fuck all’ clientele simply clamouring for a lick on the spoon of stardom. Now it gives me great pleasure to announce we’ve devoted a whole column to theses glittering antics but with one special twist. The World of Miss RIP sees our intrepid reporter going deep into the underworld to bring you the hip happenings of those dancing to an absent heart beat - I can’t wait to see the look on Pol Pot’s face as Vague presents him with a lifetime achievement award!
Enjoy this issue you bunch of emo goth freaks – it may well be your last.

Hej Sister! You see, I accidentally stumbled into your gig at World's End during the Camden Crawl, and was amazed by the music! I just drifted away with it. It was magical! I only heard 3 songs before it was over, but I thought; you may well make it into my favourite bands. There's just something about the voice, the melodies and the lyrics that hit me. Especially 'Down Down'. I feel better about the future etc.; I'm in a crappy situation at the mo looking for a job and being poorer than I wish I was, but still feeling really positive about it all.
THANX! And will try and make it for your next London gig to hear all of the songs. Inspirational indeed.
