You prolly already know, but just to be sure, DT is the guest host of this weeks Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Did you ever watch that when you lived here? It's a comedy music quiz. This week's is a DW themed show, with Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins among the teams. Sounds fun! Look out for it on youtube.

Haha, ohhhhh yes, Lucas's bum was duly noted in fine detail
Loving this series of Spooks. Love how each ep is a slow-build of mind tension, instead of the high action of previous series'. Poor old RA never has much luck with his on-screen women! Sarah is a right piece of work
Her and Mr Bell from N&S
And two Spooks written out in the first three eps
Quite some series so far! Please don't mention which characters have left on my page as our Aussie friend and Spooks fan Maureen wants it to come as a shock to her when it eventually airs in Oz!
Are you ready for Christmas? I'm bought but not wrapped, so am under control

Hey Helen
Yeah, DW going all power crazed was scary, and SO moving too
When he realised what he'd done and what it meant, it got me quite choked
The trailer for the next ep looks FAB, and yeah, The Master looks wonderfully mad and evil
The CIN tease was god too, can't wait to see the whole thing
LRTC on CIN was pretty bad. Terry Wogan
was in it as a bad Lord of the Manor, but through meeting Laura, Emma, Alfie and Minnie, he realised the errors of his ways. It was only for a couple of minutes, so you haven't missed anything earth shattering!
Shame you can't see EE anymore. All is quiet on the Syed/Christian front. It's all about Lucas and Denise's wedding right now, and with Owen out of jail and realising that Lucas has returned to the darkside, it's hotting up for an hour-long special this week when the groom murders the ex hubby!!
Aha, you're a Bill fan! I love his gentlemanliness and the way he speaks, but Eric is hot hot HOT
Never could resist a long haired, black leather clad, smirking brooder
The floods are up in the north of England but thanks for your concern. People up there have lost their possessions and had their homes ruined. Awful
How are things with you?

Ohhh Helen, DW last night was SO good! Very tense, very moving. It really is the beginning of the end. Won't say anything else until you've watched it.
The next ep will be fantastic, if the trailer for it is anything to go by!

Yep, I agree with most of what you say about Emma: bridging scenes were defo needed between K's proposal and E's screeching, and between Harriet "loving" K and marrying Robert; the H/R wedding came totally out of the blue in this version. I liked that we got a wedding, the twist being it wasn't K/E, and I thought taking E to the sea was a cute end instead!
Have to disagree over the JLM/RG combo though, I didn't get that at all! I liked this adapatation as a whole, but didn't like the two leads one bit, if that makes sense! What I mean is had more appropriate leads been cast, then I think I would have really liekd the way it was done, but as it is, JLM/RG made me very anti it
Ohhhhh yes, True Blood, it's my new obsession
Have you seen all of S1 and S2? We're only up to S1 ep6 here, but I'm totally loving it's madness and it's men
Bill just smoulders
and even though Eric's only been in one ep so far, he is SO hot to trot
Love Jason, Lafayette, Tara and Sam too. It's SO addictive
Did you like it?
Sunday will be good; DW followed by the new sereis of Top Gear
Lots of youtubeing coming up for you!

Be true to yourself, do what makes you happy and smile from deep within. You are a irreplaceable. Your behavior is about you.
When someone tries to hurt you, with lies and steals your truth, that behavior is about them. Fortunately you are only resposible for your own actions. Love deeply with all your heart and stay in the truth inside you. it will be returned more than a million times fold!!!

Yeah, quite a few people thought ep3 of Emma was really good, especially the dance scenes, and it was my fave of the 4 too. The dance still annoyed me though, all that whooping from Emma. Don't know if you've seen ep4 yet, but yes, that preview clip you mention where she bursts in screeching that she loves him but can't marry him comes right out of nowhere. Yet another reason why the whole thing was a turn-off for me.
I've never heard of Endgame. What's it about? I haven't knowingly seen JLM in anything other than Emma. I've never got round to seeing MP99. You didn't like him as Edmund? Interesting. Maybe he just can't do 19th century hero?
Thanks for the Lark Rise Comic Relief info, I hadn't heard that before. Looking forward to it
We'll get our first look at the S3 cast in it. Will be frantically scanning it for Sir Tim, but will not be holding my breath. I'm guessing that S3 will start in January, as this is when S1 and S2 started.
I'm sure you already know, but just to make sure, DT has just been/is just about to star as the Doctor in a couple of eps of The Sarah Jane Adventures. At least one of his eps was last week, but I can't be more specific than that. You probably know way more than I do about it anyway

Hi Helen
Have you seen ep3 of Emma by now? We had ep4 last night, and I think it's safe to say it was the final nail in the coffin for me. Awful! JLM made Knightely a stammering, stuttering, slightly camp, simpering fool. He and RG had absolutely no chemistry or believability as a couple. The last 10-15 was a rushed and messy shambles. It's become my third least fave JA adaptation ever! I await with interest your views.
I'm so glad you loved S1 of LRTC, and in particular the lovely Sir Timothy! Yes I agree, although you're rooting for him and Dorcas, there are times when you feel SO sorry for Lady Adelaide. It was a very good love triangle in that you feel pity and annoyance for all three of them at some point. I would LOVE him to come back in S3, and the way it was left, it would be possible, but I've no clue as to whether it will happen or not. I've had my fingers crossed since the day he left though!
Syed and Christian's story is up again this week. Someone is blackmailing Syed after seeing them together. I love all four Masood's, and when you get to it, enjoy Tamwar's birthday party, he's very funny
Have a great week

I loved your little Emma speech, Helen
I'm not overly familiar with Emma (read it once, seen the GP/JN, KB/MS versions once each), and I enjoyed your analysis.
Ep2 didn't bring a huge improvement. She's still an eye-popping loon and he's a cutesie little boy
Also not keen on unattractive Churchill, and felt sorry for Elton during the proposal. So not exactly the Emma we should be getting
But wierdly enough, I
am
still liking the production as a whole. I like the support cast, I like the way it looks and feels, and I liked a couple of the more "feeling" scenes between E/Mr K. With more appropriate casting of the leads, I think I'd have really enjoyed this version. But with the wrong leads, I'm just not feeling it the way I'd hoped to.
Be interested on your take of ep2 when you've seen it
All quiet with Syed and Christian at the mo. Loving Masood though
I really like Zeinab, but secretly want him and Jane to get together!
Have a good week.

THE WITCH'S WEDDING
A centaur was imprisoned by a witch,
and put under her spell, the two got hitched.
She turned the centaur into a princely man,
and made herself the fairest in the land.
After their wedding, the witch unzipped her dress.
Her handsome hubby helped her take off the rest.
The spell was then broken; the centaur was shocked.
His bride was uglier than a three-eyed ox!
The witch beckoned her beastie into bed,
but the centaur ran off and hid in the shed.

Hi Helen, good to hear from you
You're a couple of weeks behind the Syed/Christian story then. You have some lovely scenes between them coming up; some swoony
, some hot
, and lots full of yummy angst
My insides go all wibbly when they're on screen
Is Emma up on youtube yet? I'm not sure what I thought of it. Emma was too old and too manic, and Mr K was too young and not "solid" enough. It has potential though, so I await the next part with interest!

Hi Helen,
No I hadn't read those zombie, vampire P&P books either but was curious whether they would be worthwhile. A bookstore owner I know says they can barely keep them on the shelf, and I love the classic vampire stuff like Dracula, but am not impressed by this Twilight and other vampires craze.
I wish the BBC would quit remaking Jane Austen and branch out. I'd like more George Eliot, Thackeray, Trollope, Radcliffe, etc. So many great books have yet to be made into films. The Mysteries of Udolpho is the book I would most like to see made into a movie. I belong to the Anthony Trollope online book discussion group and we are currently reading Sir Walter Scott novels so I've been busy with that.
Enjoy this "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" as Keats would say.

My dearest soul~ Starting my weekend a bit early...but with good intent!
THE GHOST OF A FLOWER
"You're what?" asked the common or garden spook
Of a stranger at midnight's hour.
And the shade replied with a graceful glide,
"Why, I'm the ghost of a flower."
"The ghost of a flower?" said the old-time spook;
"That's a brand-new one on me;
I never supposed a flower had a ghost,
Though I've seen the shade of a tree."

Hi Helen, how's life in your world right now?
Are you still watching "your" Eastenders?! The Syed/Christian storyline has just started up again, and I'm SO loving it
They spend occasional (unseen
) nights together, but Syed still can't admit how he actually feels. Christian's gay but platonic friend James has come back to the Square, and a very jealous Syed thought they'd hooked up. The look of relief on his face when he realised they were just friends was gorgeous, as was Christian's face when he saw Syed's relief. I'm so in love with them as a would-be couple
And from a personal point of view, Syed in a blue checked shirt is edibly hot
Have a great weekend

Ahh right, I stand corrected over Hamlet! I had
no
idea it was shot already. They really did keep that quiet, it was only in the paper last week that it was happening at all! So we might get it first? You're right, we still haven't had WH, and that was joint production too. I guess we just wait and see then.....!
Bradley thought they were too young for the unplanned pregnancy. It was a bit odd, as he was always more into her, so you'd have thought he'd have wanted to keep it, but it was flighty Stacey who wanted it, and who was heartbroken when Bradley insisted on the abortion. It's what led her into the arms of Max; her tragic loss, and her repressed anger towards Bradley.
Ta for the holiday wishes

Hi Helen, hope you're well.
"
Your
EE!"
Don't know how up to date you are, but you'll be pleased at the current Archie/Peggy situation, and also the Ronnie hate/symapthy one. Rumours are that she gets pregnant soon and loses it, but pretends she still is, thereby setting up a baby snatching story. But it's only rumoured at this stage.
Yeah, I like Stacey too, Lacey is fab in that role. She's had a very full life these last couple of years; terminating Bradley's baby at his insistance, having a long affair with his dad Max, marrying Bradley, then the Max affair coming out, and finally Danielle's death. No wonder the poor thing's suffering. Jean's backstory was good too; we met her a couple of years ago, although she was a guest on-off role until recently, but in her earlier appearances, we saw her at her most disturbed. Their interaction with Sean was also great; a proper dysfunctional yet tragic mess, that only kept together via Stacey. I really miss Sean.
My fave current story, Syed and Christian, has been fairly quiet, other then Christian getting beaten up, followed by Syed's confused concern for him and an off-camera
between them.
Yeah, I heard about DT bringing Hamlet to TV. Don't think it will be shown here so soon though, I don't think it's even been made yet! It's a joint PBS/BBC venture, so like The Tudors which is also a joint project, there's every chance you'll see it before we do.
We're off on holiday at the weekend (just somewhere in England, so a rain-dodging holiday it will be!), so if I don't speak to you before we go, have a good next few weeks

I was initially disappointed in Merlin--the characters are messed up quite a bit compared to the legend, but after I got used to its take on the legend after a few episodes, I'm starting to like it a lot more. Hasn't been much else on TV lately worth watching other than some Miss Marple Mystery episodes. But I am enjoying my summer. Hope you are too!

Summer. Well, it wasn't summer on Hulupinous II, although they did have lovely soup.
Just kidding. I was back visiting mum for a bit so, summer, yes. I tried to get a tan by laying out on the roof for a bit but it was overcast and the Doctor said sunbathing is a 'colossal waste of time'. I'll make due with fake tan then, I suppose.

Aww, what a shame you missed TW. It was
suc
h a great series. I was annoyed when I first heard this series would be 5 eps over 5 nights instead of 13 eps over 13 weeks, thinking it would ruin things, but boy, was I wrong! It was easily the best thing on telly all year so far! It was
so
dramatic, tense and moving, and the nightly airings just kept the intensity right up. Ianto dying really shocked me. I had no idea he was leaving and so when it happened, I was gutted. I hoped against hoped that Jack's kisses had breathed his eternal life into him and he'd wake up, but no
Really hope you get to see it some time. Try to watch it back to back like we did, to keep the drama sky-high!
I don't mind Archie, it's Peggy I can't stand! BW just can't act. But yeah, I wonder what they can do with Archie now he's back. Syed and Christian are still my faves at the mo, I'm really rooting for them to get together! In all the time Christian's been in the show, he's never let anyone get under his skin the way Syed has. I'm guessing things will hit the fan on Ameria's wedding day, that's normally what happens in soaps!
Have a good weekend
