my tiny, cold, metal heart just shattered to pieces. This band literally saved me, as corny as it may sound, and discovering it is, in fact, over . . . can you actually believe the last show is a day after my birthday? funny.not
i'll hang on to the hope of another band, i still need my daily listening of girls-without-a-face-robots-from-outer-limits-and-other-dead-things songs :)

I remember when you guys were all about "Oasis" in Bremerton,  I was there for every show. Long lost Fan and now I live in Minneapolis, MN.  I can't believe you guys are leaving us SkeletonArmy Fans.  Well you and Kane Hodder should totally Put together a most amazing band, it would be awesome, I can hear it now!  Best of Luck in your Travels.  <3

I can't believe its over....
After nearly 5 years of being at every show possible, Schoolyard is dead. We've bussed, ferried, walked and drove all over the state to see you guys, even slept on a few benches along the way. I've felt more at home at your shows than I ever have, more than I do in my own home. Can't wait to have that feeling one last time on the 19th. Our love is with you, see you soon!

Dear Ryann, Jonah, Steve, and Brian,

You know that I have loved all four of you since the first time I heard They Live on my friend's iPod, back when I was a freshmen.  I'm 19 now, and honestly, I'm heartbroken.  I feel like the love of my life just dumped me hahaha.  But seriously, I've seen tons and tons and tons of bands and you are to this day, my hands down favorite.  You guys have always put on the best live show I have ever seen.  My life had always seemed to be in shambles but it always just so happened that you guys came to town when shit got too hard to handle.  I might be sounding really corny right now, but all of what I'm telling you is true.  I don't know if you guys understand how much you've helped me through (and tons of others, I'd bet).  

Seriously, I will never, ever forget that day Dustin messaged my first band's myspace.  I opened it and it said words I never thought I would see:  You guys wanna open for Schoolyard?  Haha oh my god.  I was in love with you guys, so I just about pissed myself haha.  That was an awful set we played (we were an awful band, I was a freshmen!) but I'll never forget how nice Ryann was about it afterwards.  

Anyway, I'll be surprised if you guys actually read this novel I just wrote you haha.  I love you guys.  And I expect to be one of the first notified if there's ever a reunion.

P.S.  This tattoo has always been a pain in the ass to explain to people, and I'm sure it'll only get worse as I get older.  But there is no way in hell I will ever regret it.

I can't believe it's over. It just doesn't seem real. Only about a year ago, I was at your show. It was great as usual, and I've been itching to go to another one ever since. But now it's over... One of my favorite bands is finished.
It hasn't quite set in, but I know what this means... no more tours, no more albums, no more of my favorite band. No more Ryann getting in people faces, no more Jonah galavanting across the stage, no more Brian in his workout outfit, no more Steve shredding that guitar... This makes me so sad. :(
I'll never forget how petrified and exhilirated I felt when I first heard "The Mechanical Man vs. the Robot From the Outer Limits" four years ago. I was certain I had stumbled upon something incredible, something worthwhile. And I was right.

Thanks for the good tunes and times and good luck for the future. I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for any new projects. Whatever a schoolyard hero does next, it's gotta be good.
