Hiya dude,
Tom (our drummer) was in the Taphouse the same night as you then, he said it wasn't very busy, you to get really packed in there. Think a lot more people are staying in where they can smoke and have a cheap drink. Yeah I can imagine it's a bit of a culture shock, I'm actually fron Birmingham (grew up in Erdington), moved over here when I was about 18 about 15 years ago... it's changed a bit since then. I guess it's always been limited compared to the multitude of musical options you get in Birmingham. I don't know if there is much call for a monthly night for the more interesting side of music, but I'd really like to see it myself. There are a few cool bands around though. Just don't know what they do about playing around Kiddy. Dunno if I said before but we have pretty much given up trying to conquer Kiddy, wouldn't mind giving it another shot though, for old times sake ;)

Hiya Toby,
I'm not much of a scenester to be honest, so I'm not very clued up. There are a couple of open mic nights that go on. Used to like playing at the Seven Stars, not that many folk but they were appreciative ya know? And they don't do gigs anymore. Tap House has loads of gigs and if you play the right sort of music you can go down really well. We don't play the right sort of music and have always hated playing there because of it, which is odd because I used to be in there all the time drinking, going down there tonight probably. We aren't gonna change what we do though so sod it. They used to let us practice in their basement which was nice of 'em. When John Jo (from Toxic Pijin) and Gamble Gamble played there I felt sorry for them, it's just Worcester seems to be more accepting of the more unusual side of music. If you find some more places let me know. There used to be a decent metal scene but I'd grown out of it by then lol

Omnia Opera

Aug 1, 2008 12:05 PM

Ahoy there - watch this space as may be a Brum gig soon. Places in Kiddy - dependant on taste. Market Tavern used to be the place but sadly closed down. I usually have a pint in the Red Man or Severn Stars when I am over that way. Ask Rob if you ever catch us as it's his home turf. Good luck in the ether. Capn Bags.

Thanks for the add request, some awesome tunes you are blasting out, had no idea such things happened in kiddy! :) Proper cool.
