Hi there ladies - hope your Summer is going well!

I've finally uploaded my 11th selection of recordings onto MySpace and I hope you enjoy listening to them. They are :-

1. Stargazer (Astral Mix),
2. Funk It Up,
3. That's The Way They Make Their Money,
4. For A While,
5. Fall To The Ground,
6. Incarnation.

They are preview tracks for the C.D., "Belsize Grove", which remains unfinished at this time, due to lack of money.

Hello to all you Invocals, I saw you at Spratton but didn't get a chance to say "hi" because I was pressing the buttons for Cave. So, "Hi".

I am now currently 16.6% more into you following the said performance. From afar, I initially thought that Helen's evil twin had taken Sarah's place, what with distance being a factor and all that. Have you found Sarah v.2?

Hope all's well x

REVIEW: INVOCAL ALBUM LAUNCH
Category: Music

The atmosphere in the packed out venue was absolutely electric. Invocal fans from all over the country, delighted to be there ( the gig had sold out sometime ago), anticipating an experience that would be guaranteed to thrill; we are talking about Invocal afterall! The audience already had been treated to the sight of the new Invocal costumes - still the band colours of pink and black....but in new, flamboyant period costumes. An 18th century dame - complete with tall white wig, a red haired highwayman, a cheeky (pregnant) flapper girl, and finally a burlesque escapee from the Moulin Rouge.

The evening had been kicked off with Rozism in support. A good choice, eccentric and kooky and incredibly talented, one girl on stage with a guitar and a laptop.

And finally the main event, Invocal. You could have heard a pin drop as the girls started with quiet vocal harmony which then launched the rest of the evening. A theatrical performance, at once darkly macabre, caustic and wryly humorous. A performance so intense, so honest (painful when you relate it to your own life and mishaps), so deeply complex but ridiculously hooky that not only is it emblazoned in my memory, part of me is still there in that packed out venue ( sounds Lovey but it's true). As is usual, the intensity of the performance was broken up between the songs with good natured and humorous banter.

I have seen Invocal on a number of occasions and consider them to be one of the most genuinely unique, and intensely entertaining acts in the UK today. This gig has confirmed first place. The new Album, "I Can't Say No to the Slugs" is jaw droppingly powerful.

It was wonderful being a part of the audience. We were all electric with excitement, drinking in the new material we had all waited for so long.
A coup

Invocal have been played on the It's A Frog's Life Acoustic Podcast Show 71 - Pour me a drink - with all of the songs being linked to an alcohol theme. And by cutting down on the talking I've managed to squeeze eleven songs into the 60 minute show.

There are tipsy tunes from Edwina Hayes, Carleko, Gerry McNiece, Joe Topping, Terry Coyne, Anthony John Clarke, Kaya, Jazmine Ava, His Worship and The Pig, Invocal, Ten Gallon Hat & The Big Salute, and a bedding track from Matt Steven's brand new album.
Perfect for New Year's Eve!

Thank you all for listening and supporting the show during 2008.

Happy New Year!

Graham..

Totally amazing performance at the album launch. Unbelievably good songs, wonderful new stage clothes. The new album is fantastic. My favourite at the moment is Where the Gotten Go. The atmosphere is nightmarish and reflects the content of the song. Totally awe struck that you have captured night-terrors in such a way. Just as you think Invocal are as near to perfection as possible, well they just change the limits. The photography and design of the album cover and booklet is fantastic and captures the spirit of Invocal beautifully. Incredible. Thankyou.
