Falling in Love with Things
Norbert Enker Joachim A. has been pretty faithful to his steam locomotive recently.
The 41-year-old recognized and accepted his inclination when he was just 12 years old. It was then that he fell head over heels "into an emotionally and physically very complex and deep relationship, which lasted for years." His partner back then was a Hammond organ -- he has now been in a steady relationship with a steam locomotive for several years. Since he is particularly aroused by the inner workings of technical objects, repair jobs have often led to infidelity in the past. "A love affair could very well begin with a broken radiator," the now monogamous lover says, remembering how his earlier affairs began.
Joachim gradually realized that "you can reveal yourself to an object partner in an intimate way, in a way that you would never reveal yourself to any other person." That includes the desire to "experience sexuality together," he adds.
No Limits to Erotic Experience
True, the outward shape of the lover can pose problems for the consummation of the partnership. But those problems are solved in a highly pragmatic way by most objectum-sexuals: Sandy K. had a model of the Twin Towers manufactured on a scale of 1:1,000. The façade consists of anodized aluminium, just like that of the original -- "so that the model feels true to life." The metal miniature has another tangible advantage: It doesn't rust when Sandy K. takes "a pleasant bath with it."
Apparently there are hardly any limits to the human capacity for erotic experience: "You snuggle together in bed," she explains, "which can be very exciting."
Sandy K.'s relationship to the Twin Towers is somewhat unusual.

Thanks Eliza for the memorial photo montage. He writes a short essay on this film series called the Holocaust where he argues that the nuclear bomb and other practices of extermination are iterated, as it were, in the effacement of experience by artificial memory through a cold system, like a cooling system in the car, "This artificial memory will be the restaging of extermination--but late, much too late for it to be able to make real waves and prfoundly distrub something, and especially, especially through a medium that is itself cold, radiating forgetfulness, deterrence, and extermination in a still more systematic way, if that is possible than the camps themselves" (Baudrillard, Holocaust). Sorry to dampen everyones spirits, but I guess if there is anything to watch after his death it is how quickly his image and the word simulacra will slowly disassemble all knowledge of his name. Anyway, think i'm going to go read some more literature on war crime tribunals.

Strange feeling I got looking at a picture of myself in yellow clothes I don’t remember. At least the ant killer rang a bell. It was a good introduction to this new phase in my life. A transitional period at Elsewhere.
Still isolated but encompassed. Working together to meet common needs. The intense scrutiny of the roles we take on and so forth.
Now I’m occasionally haunted with guilt (those moments when these things come to mind.) Not because I broke the rules but because I lost and object
Forever and
ever and ever.
I’m still thinking of how to replace it.
Not how but how.
Motherfucking technological distractions.

I lost Bruce. Yes, the little yellow man, he was named in Brooklyn. It's documented. I last saw him at the Bitter End. I took him out of my pocket so some blonde woman with a french braid could pet him. If I see her again I'll be sure to ask if she has him. I'm trying to avoid the Bitter because it makes me smell like fried chicken. Would yawl raise your glasses to me and Bruce this weekend? I did grow to love him. It's been very difficult for me... this past week... alone. I'll send you a DVD of my last documented moments with Bruce.
Fucking Portland.

i just finished watching the whole 1st season of twin peaks. had never seen it before. you were in my dream last night, elsewhere, and J was playing SuperPianoBouncyBall. i long for a late night cruise on the noise pontoon. i am bound to this town in august tho. i've got the itch. things have been far too ordinary lately. by that i mean i can understand what people are talking about. ech. it's hard to travel in the land of comprehension. lots of 4-way stops.
