bentley	Nov 20, 2008 2:29 AM FUR FREE FRIDAY PROTEST! Animal Connection of Texas (ACT) will be hosting Fur Free Friday this year in Dallas, the day after Thanksgiving at Neiman Carcass downtown. Every year, millions of animals are trapped, gassed, anally electrocuted or have their necks snapped before being skinned (often while still fully conscious) so that vain, unfeeling people can be "fashionable" . Sadism isn't fashion, and it isn't pretty. In China, cats and even roaming pet dogs on the streets wearing collars are rounded up and brutally murdered for cheap fur trim, usually labeled as "faux" or as some other species. As if that even mattered! Please make the time to speak for the helpless, innocent animals and educate the public about the atrocities of fur, and we'll stress the point that "just a little fur trim" doesn't mean "just a little tortured and murdered! We have signs and literature, but feel free to express yourself by making a sign saying what YOU want to say if you like - variety of information to passersby is more effective. Feel free to bring a friend or family member too! Need a little motivation? Animal Connection of Texas (ACT) will kick off a major campaign against an animal abuse industry on October 11th, immediately following the ACT general meeting at 11am at the Center for Community Cooperation (2900 Live Oak, Dallas, TX). Please plan to attend and, if possible, dress comfortably but nicely in black clothing. This will be an in-store disruption with a twist and an extremely low/no arrest risk at a location that is not expecting us. Strategy will be discussed, and the location revealed at the October 11th ACT meeting. This Demo is being organized by Animal Connection of Texas with tactical assistance from the American Hunt Saboteurs Association and former Animal Liberation of Texas and Texas Establishment for Animal Rights members. If you have grown tired of standing on the sidewalk quietly holding a sign, come inside the store with us and raise your voice to fight for the lives of animals. After the action, we invite activists to continue the caravan and join us at the separate, but equally important, Petland grand opening demo in Plano. But you can always join us on the ACT yahoogroup and come to our monthly meetings! We meet every month on the second Saturday.
