(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare;
Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls;
The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees,
Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham;
Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

greetings from the land Down Under. Thanks for adding me as a friend - welcome to our online roleplay “Arkadia Rising: A Dark Gothik Tale” where dark fiction fuses with darker reality. We are a group of writers from around the world creating a unique story telling experience here on myspace, set in a mysterious gothic fortress in the Carpathian Mountains, Romania - just a few short years from now. The last remnants of life on earth seek refuge at the ancient safe haven that is “Arkadia” in a dark post apocolyptic world. See my page blog for details. Extending an invitation to visionary, talented writers/graphic artists/publishers/musicians /film makers with interest in gothic/dark fantasy & exploring survival post 2012 to join us in transitioning this story to book and film. There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer.<br /><br />When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"<br /><br />He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages...<br /><br />

Just wanted to drop in on a rainy day and say hi to you all. I hope everything is great with you. We are excited, D.B. Pacini's youth/YA fantasy novel, THE LOOSE END OF THE RAINBOW, is being published in one week. Actually, she’s so excited that she is driving me a little nuts. She is donating some books and 10% of the proceeds to a charitable organization that helps Native American youth.
I also wanted to tell you about our free Starry Night Creative Artists Community. We started it last summer and it is growing like a weed, becoming international. It is open to creative artists of all mediums and we showcase organizations and individuals that help others. It is a cool community. I hope you’ll check it out. Chocolate Legs
A set of thighs
so gorgeous and
attached to the prize.
Drip drops of the
chocolate paste,
so sexy its defined
by the smile on my face.
Those chocolate legs
have a mind of their own.
It starts with a moan
and a soft tone.
Coloring the skin
with some chocolate
as the path begins
to lead his touch to touch the treasure within.
Sweeten slides,
he and she
say
MY, MY,MY.
The loving sundae
tops the prize
with a glaze of hershey harmony
that is all over his face.
The candy makes it better.
The body is wetter.
Chocolate legs,
hot and bothered.
A man begs,
and she screamed and hollered his name
HERSHEY KISSES,
HERSHEY KISSES,
"Oh, baby I am glad I'm your Mrs."

I can never get this day back
Never get back to you
Never find the way to say I'm sorry in a poem
Wouldn't even know if I wanted to anymore
In the clouds of tomorrow
Comes the I don't remember
And yesterday will seem so far away
That no one will ever will
So in this day, the one we had
we lost
Like pictures on postcards
With their I love you's rendered in ink
Destinations unknown
as clouds of discontent linger

Just because I’m sitting at my desk
Doesn’t mean I’m really writing...
My desire for writing is big now, I’m swallowing words
I’m trying not to write
I’m staring at this empty window
There is nothing in there
And words want to come out but I don’t’ let them
I’m jealous of my self
I don’t deserve such a big pleasure
But there is a need that I feel
A need of purity.
But I still won’t write
Although, I really want to.
Just because I’m sitting at my desk
Doesn’t mean I’m doing nothing
Don’t get me wrong
I’m not that lazy,
I sit to think,
And it hurts more than writing
But the more I think
The more I write and smile
And I sit at my desk
Thinking and smiling,
Looking to nothing and clouds…

Latest review for DIVERTING THE BUDDHA (The Skewering of Democracy)
"DIVERTING THE BUDDHA is an ambitious novel that delivers through a vivid portrayal of the treachery and deceit that emerged during the catastrophic Vietnam War. Bob Swartzel wastes little time in immersing his readers in a chaotic world where poor innocent people are caught between a corrupt Vietnamese leadership, as well as the self-interest of a few profiteers and an American foreign policy gone amok. Among the many achievements of this novel is Swartzel’s ability to provide his readers with a realistic sense of the historical setting the characters inhabit. It also vividly captures the chaotic theater of war where we witness a gritty epoch of guns, politics, treachery and economic self-interest.
No doubt there are many novels pertaining to the Vietnam War, however, this one stands out as an unforgettable tale at its most emotional and painful with its multiple perspectives pertaining to the politics and history recounted in human terms.”
Norm Goldman, B.A. LL.L, Publisher & Editor of Bookpleasures.com

Latest review for DIVERTING THE BUDDHA (The Skewering of Democracy)
“This complex and deftly plotted novel examines a massive assault on a people crying out for democracy. It chronicles a time when American efforts to build democracy produced an apocalyptic disaster. While the author spares none of the grisly details of this repression, his special powers of language also brings his characters and their complex world vividly to life. The story leads its readers inside pagodas, university halls and military posts, all venues with which the novelist is perfectly familiar. The major theme of this novel is betrayal—of democratic aspirations, of the American public, of truth itself.”
Historian David Heiser, Citadel Military College Ret.
