Good to hear from you guys - actually we are in the midst of recording right now. Me, Dave the new lead guitarist, and Ian the new drummer/recording genius are hard at it and we think we have some pretty cool songs. Once they are finished we'll have them up for folks to listen to.

On the third day He rose! And when he heard about Grainbelt's super-short set last night, He was not happy. What the hell was that about? At least we got a "Kansas"...

R.I.P. Lux Interior and our most sincere condolences to Poison Ivy.
February 4, 2009
UPDATE: The Official Statement (from Girlie Action, The Cramps’ media representatives):
For Immediate Release:
February 4, 2009
Lux Interior, lead singer of The Cramps, passed away this morning due to an existing heart condition at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, California at 4:30 AM PST today. Lux has been an inspiration and influence to millions of artists and fans around the world. He and wife Poison Ivy’s contributions with The Cramps have had an immeasurable impact on modern music.
The Cramps emerged from the original New York punk scene of CBGB and Max’s Kansas City, with a singular sound and iconography. Their distinct take on rockabilly and surf along with their midnight movie imagery reminded us all just how exciting, dangerous, vital and sexy rock and roll should be and has spawned entire subcultures. Lux was a fearless frontman who transformed every stage he stepped on into a place of passion, abandon, and true freedom. He is a rare icon who will be missed dearly.
The family requests that you respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Dug the show Saturday, especially the "On the Road" song and, of course "Kansas". The bass player guy was obviously pretty wasted during the latter, but it was funny/rocking. The whole room clap-along section of it was the Grainbelt feel-good moment of the night.
You guys could've at least *mentioned* Two Cow at some point during the show though...

OK, now comes forth new information an what will quite possibly be the strangest, most inexplicable, eclectic shows ever to go down at the Tavern. On 28 DEC, Richard Hoffay's Albuquerque, under the guise of the dissolute "Topanga Canyon Allstars" will start off the night at 10, laying down tracks of the "Flight of the Shitbird" composition, followed by Don Ackerman, Buddy Harrison, and the Banditos, who will present "Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy"....

True Story: Chico-n-I hammered-out a real thrasher, a "gig," as it were, with a pair H.O.F.-ers, Kieth Christopher-n-Tom Hardart, ta the SOL Bar, Delhi. The owner finally threw us out (he was gesturing, franically, "turn it down," first measure - yeah!!). Anyway, we're moppin-up, bartender slaps some killer shizzite CD on the jukebox. I ask round, "Who-zat?" Nuttin. Next song - the absolute shizzle. Third tune, "Know who this is, A$$-bag?, Chico ponders. I honed-in, fer a moment, my exceptional brain took over, and I stammered, "Tis the Grainbelt! tizzin-it?" and, again,.. that's a true story, Harlo, Bovina
