Dear Andrew,

thank you so much for adding us. Thumbs up for your work on this site- you must have dedicated your whole life to it.
Buddy and I have always adored Sandy..s incredible talent  as probably the best ever folk singer and also as a songwriter. Many have tried to cover her songs - nobody ever got anywhere near . And so she will remain - treasured in our memory, unforgettable, eternal !

This site is a labour of love and we thank you for all the hard work you have put in !
Love from Andrea and 'Buddy.

I wrote a poem about you and Nick Drake and how you both inspire me and how I feel likened to you.
  I've also been listening to "Next Time Around" quite alot... I guess it reflects the way I'm feeling on some levels...

Thanks for the add. Her voice and songwriting were unique. Thanks for uploading The Quiet Joys Of Brotherhood - such a beautiful solo performance. My favourite though is The Sea: 'You laugh at me on sunny days but mine's the slight of hand - don't you know I'm a joker, a deceiver? And I'm waiting for the land'. I often think of those words as I walk by the sea here on calm, sunny days like today.

Hi there, lovely new pictures you've put up on the Sandy Denny page. We've just got back from Cropredy and to hear "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" still being sung in the final half hour of the gig is a tribute to a wonderful talent.
Just thought you may be interested to hear our version of Dave Swarbrick's "White Dress" which is featured on our album, which has just been produced by Dave Pegg - Chris Leslie plays mandolin and fiddle on our version.  Swarb has given it his blessing, and having Peggy playing bass on it is a real dream come true for us.
We both come to this site as fans, kindest regards - Carolyn & Mark

David Lockhart's painfully excessive capturing of the booze-swilling and constantly concupiscent Jim Morrison is an encyclopedic homage to the ethos of rock. Boudeeka's haunting accurate portrayal of Janis Joplin is a tribute to women in rock (she also plays the Airplane's Grace Slick) and the raw emotion that was so much a part of the scene. Carlton Poward is an almost frightening replica with his spot-on Jimi Hendrix characterization and inspired guitar playing.

David Franks: Walkabout…

Aug 17, 2009 2:19 PM

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
