...Part deux....

If a fan they really were they might consider that JR isn't the type who likes friction, and negativity, and he would want us all to aspire to show each other a little more respect, and goodness.

Honestly, I like to try to stay out of this kind of stuff which seems to happen every year, but this place has become a real drag and I've come to hate coming here as well, and barely do anymore. I think we loss sight of the reason why we all gathered to this site everyday. We had this common bond that brought us all here. It was JR, it was Dishwalla. It was the anticipation of what JR was going to bring to us by way of his solo record. We patiently waited years for that release and that day finally came and instead of hanging around here to pat JR on the back, praise him, encourage, and support him and thank him for the gift he gave us, we somehow managed to just suck the joy and fun out of this place. It saddens me.
We may not have always liked each other on this board, but we certainly did have moments of great camaraderie from time to time. We shared stories, reviews, photos, videos, it was all about JR and celebrating him and what he brings to our lives. It used to be a place where we made each other laugh, and in turn we made JR smile as well. Everytime I come here now I think about JR and how he must just be shaking his head at what this place has become. I don't think the answer is another forum with a moderator as though we were all 5 year olds in need of supervision... I remember the old Dish board back in '98, I was a lurker then, I also remember how 'clics' and arguments happened there as well, let's not kid ourselves. In the end, What's needed is just a little effort on all of our parts to learn to exercise a little bit of self-discipline, and learn to show each other some mutual respect, knowing that we are all just fans who have a great love for the same artist.
Every now and then someone shows up here to try to instigate something, and I'm baffled by it everytime, especially when it comes from someone claiming to be a fan of JR.
