Interested in submitting your short films to the Austin Movie Show's Film Tournament 3.0? Short films (shot on any format), under 10 minutes in length, will compete one-on-one with other short films for the most audience votes (March Madness meets American Idol), and the films with the most votes move on to the next round of competition until there is one final winning film. There is no entrance fee, but the deadline is June 1st, so if you're interested, please submit as many films as you like (on DVD only please) to:

Film Tournament 3.0
c/o Jegar Erickson
1221 Barton Hills Dr. Ste 225
Austin, TX 78704

Here's some more details that I'm forwarding from our website.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We love film festivals...we love film festivals alot. However, this time we wondered what would happen if you threw a film festival into a blender with guns, knives, bombs, poison, javelins, swords, and a pinch of cinnamon for good measure...
We've got short films competing one on one (under ten minutes) in FOUR seperate categories:
Animation
Narration
Musically Themed
Documentary
There will be 32 films, 8 per category, that will compete until there is a final film from each round. Then the FINAL FOUR will duke it out to see who is best in show!!!
Starting June 4th, the Film Tournament 3.0 will hit television and podcasting to allow the games to begin. Every Sunday night four new films will enter the stage, followed by Monday NIGHT out at Freddie's Place on South 1st Steet to watch the films out on a big screen like films were meant to be seen.
If you would like to submit a short film: info@austinmovieshow.com for more details on where to send your submission.
FOR MANY DECADES...
The true independent music community has been marginalized into obscurity,
by exclusive agreements between major labels, big radio stations, and all others who require a major label affiliation; in order to gain access to market opportunities.
True independents are SMALL BUSINESSES, who have a right to grow and prosper in the World of Commerce.
We have a right to bring our products to market, and to fairly and ethically compete for market share, within our industry.
Competiton is a necessary thing in the World of Commerce; to block it, control it, deny it, refuse to deal, conspire against it, or even the ATTEMPT to do any of these things...is AGAINST FEDERAL LAW!
Antitrust laws were created 100 years ago, to protect this right.
However, these laws have failed to protect true independents; from the anticompetitive exclusionary behavior that comes from the exclusive agreements between entertainment industry Gatekeepers, and the Twin barriers of major labels and big radio.
A music revolution is on the Horizon. Those indies who stand up TOGETHER to fight for what is right, will be remembered as The Brave Ones, who weathered the storm; that brought about positive changes in our industry. The time is now for this change. CHANGE IS POSSIBLE.
We must act together as one Great Community; not as scattered and harmless individuals, across this beautiful World.
Change and success is possible, but it is not; as long as most of us just accept things the way they are.
"TO EVERYTHING...TURN, TURN, TURN...THERE IS A SEASON...TURN, TURN, TURN...AND A
TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN"
True independents must prevail! NAMASTE!
