Call for Submissions: Anarchist Yarns

Deadline: August 1st
Length: 1000 words or less
How to Submit: email louisvuittonnight@gmail.com

Description:
Anarchism has a bad rap. There are so many myths and negative assumptions about anarchists floating around that to wade through them all would turn anyone into a creature from the black and red lagoon. Which is why we’re devoting a whole issue to our stories from the silly to the poignant, from the hilahrious to the just fucked. We want everyone and their granny anarchy to write in a short little story that presents the real side of anarchists, whatever that may be. Don’t pull your punches though, no one’s selling anything, we want the truth and nothing but the truth. We are particularly interested in getting some good old punk house stories or stories about all the crazy anarchist co-op shit that goes down but we are equally interested in the personal side of things, the tears behind the sunglasses, so to speak. Honestly, it can even be made up if necessary, fuck the truth, in fact a bed-time story or two wouldn’t hurt anyone. We know you have your stories, and you have a full month, so make it work!

ps.
We’re still looking for anarchist erotic stories, do anarchists even have sex anymore?

ugh i'm so sick of seeing "get out and don't vote" that the Distro is stricken from my "top friends"

all the damn time, we have to struggle and strive just to politicize consciousness
and then, as tradition has it, every two years there's a moment when discourse *IS* political, when it's second nature to engage with our [friends neighbors coworkers classmates fellow bus passengers] about political issues -- and our response is to be like "fuck that sham"?

it's not like we're going to be too busy feeding the hungry or caring for the sick or holding the picket line to take the hour off to go make our tiny vote-droplet into the electoral bucket.
we spend too much energy talking "radical" to one another, drinking forties till we black out, and not enough thinking of ways we can take our message of hope and solidarity to the majority of folks who think politics = election.

grrrraag VENTING.!! i love y'all, S. & E., keep up your good work. thanks for the forum...

On January 12th and 13th the first APPO Youth Encuentro was held in Zaachila, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Among the many Plans of Action agreed upon by the diverse group of young folks, was this march on January 15 for the liberation of political prisoners in Oaxaca. In Particular David Reyes Venegas.

As youth, we declare ourselves in favor of the exit of the illegitimate, assassin, repressor and fascist Ulises Ruis Ortiz.

-Against the fascist, neoliberal politic, headed by the illegitimate Felipe Calderon and his allies.
-We declare ourselves in solidarity and support of the fighting people of Zaachila.
-For the liberation of all political prisoners in Oaxaca.
-For the presentation, alive, of those disappeared, and a cease to the political persecution of social activists.
-For the punishment of those responsible for the assassinations of our fallen companeros.
-For the return of those exiled and a annulment of invented charges, and conversely, the absolute and unconditional freedom of all those processed.
-Against the militarization of our state.
-Against the militarization of the Zapatista communities in Chiapas.
-In support of the struggle of the Cananea miners.
-In support of the struggle of the "Normalistas" in Ayotzinapa Guerrero.
-In support of the declaration of war made by the Lakota-Sioux against the United States government.
-That those who assume autonomy or popular power here, revindicate the Mesoamerican Indigenous Principles o

***BACKGROUND***
If you're still lost here's a little background and focus questions:
For anarchists during the last turn of the century the debate between anarchism and decadence was a point of serious division.

Everyone knows that Oscar Wilde represented the union of decadence and anarchism best. But, did you know that he believed that decadence was the best expression of elegance, art and politics free from moral, political and religious coercion? He purposely emphasized the term "decadence" because he embraced all the negative connotations of the Dandy (or the vapid artist hipster) and felt that it was in the interest of anarchism to be the worst possible "citizen." The Dandy was the extension of this theory, a wholly depraved and self-centered person that

Greetings,

Thanks for adding us. Your support is much appreciated.

What do you think of these newly discovered crime scene photos (viewed at Abu-Jamal-News.com)?

I have been personally contacting every mainstream media person I could find and still the only place that has published the actual photo is the national Black newspaper, The SF Bay View.

This just the latest episode in a long history of corporate media bias (and arguably racism) towards Mumia and other political prisoners.

In Solidarity,
