hey there Fishies, Thought I'd mention you guys should get yourselves an account on last.fm http://www.last.fm/ It's a bit like a cooler myspace and you can upload your free tracks and also short samples of the new recordings (excited!) for people to listen to. It's cool, and users can play a web radio station of tracks that are similar to the ones they listen to ( the user installs a bit of software that tracks what you play on your compter or ipod...). Anyhow, it's another great way to find listeners... I am here http://www.last.fm/user/loothi as an example. :-) Hope the mixing goes well!!

Art for Lands Sake
Jul 31, 2007 7:31 PM
Hey folks, we've got some new tracks up on Art for Lands Sake - come and have a listen!!
Rory McLeod 'Defending Our Homes' - voted Best Live Act at BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2002, a tour de force of British folk storytelling. 'Defending...' should be heard and rejoiced by all!
Stanton Delaplane 'Melpomene, Her Tragedy' - Bristol-residing songwriter with loop pedal and a lilting charm offensive means I can't stop listening to this track. I'm sure this guy's going on to bigger things!
Papa Chubbs 'She's Like A River' - I don't know too much about these guys other than this sounds like a song recorded by a band who've been around for years recording with people in expensive studios and I know that's not the case which makes this track all the more beguiling indeed!
krafla 'Synthesised People Cheering' - A project by two gentlemen called Simon Fox and Steve Hough, who may both be better known for recordings with Grover, Godflesh, Einstellung, James Summerfield and others, and released on Bearos Records and Static Caravan, it is no surprise this song kills in a gorgeous mixture of instrumentation and electronics kinda way. Barry Hogan of All Tomorrow's Parties is a fan, as am I!
Listen! Listen! Listen! Then buy these songs at
www.all4artists.com/artforlandssake
All of the money goes towards buying permaculture land!
Great music for your ears, buying land for future generations to enjoy, everyone's a winner!
Remember to come check us out at Big Green Gathering - we'll be in the Sustainable Homes section with some bongos, a revolving parasol and maybe a cake!
