Pachuco CadaverAnnie L.	Oct 12, 2008 7:39 AM I was excited to find your zine because I recently moved to the city to attend SLU and was nervous about what I would find in regards to the art scene. I am young, but at home, I was fairly involved in the creative arts. I write and occasionally draw terrible stick figures, but in a bland state like Indiana, that was considered "weird/special/fakeart." When I came here... I found your zine, among MANY others, I was shocked. I've never seen anything like it. I didn't expect it in STL, because frankly, the city doesn't seem to be as forward thinking as I have heard. But... I saw your zine at a coffee shop, picked it up and was very inspired. I'm excited about more of your work. I am also babbling quite a bit. I am just so excited that there is something like this going on in my college "city." P.S. I will make sure to check out your exhibit!!!!! :)

Renner, Artist	Aug 11, 2008 6:03 AM my painting had come to a stand-still -- well, relatively speaking -- for the past couple of months... this weekend, however, i finally made the decision to go forward with a white-on-white piece for the "birth of the cool" series i am working on... this piece will be called "darn that dream".... having broken through that psychological barrier i completed work on two canvases that have been hanging fire for several months... one of them is a collaboration, of sorts, with an unknown artist whose abandoned canvas i scavenged from a wash. u. student's dumpster on move-out weekend... the challenge here is to come up with a work that someone would keep and treasure if they found it in a dumpster... it's a collaboration because the unknown student applied some sort of plastic to their canvas leaving a sort of "mountain range/gash" down the middle of the canvas... looking at a book zao wou-ki served as the inspiration i needed to add to the work i had already done on the piece.... i'm pretty sure i'm done now.... i also worked today on a piece that just wasn't happening... i'm not sure if i'm happy with it yet... but it's better than it was.... in working on the three larger canvases, i also worked on three small 7" x 5" works on paper... two of them are finished but the third still needs... something.... here's one of the completed pieces... t. renner, "for charlie parker," 2008, 7" x 5", acrylic on paper. -- http://tonyrenner. blogspot. com

Fort Gondo show will feature sculptures, paintings, drawings, photos, found objects, stolen things, and more. SNOWFLAKE/CITYSTOCK exhibit is several drawings and a 45 minute video piece. The drawings are intended as scenes of the video existing OUTSIDE the framework of the pixils.
