STOP Same Sex Abuse

Jan 13, 2009 5:05 PM

About this page:
I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this.

SAVE THE DATE!
2008 - A Revolutionary Evening of Dinner and Dance
September 20th, 2008

JustFundKY enjoyed a massive success with Kate Clinton’s performance at the Singletary Center back in October 2007. The event netted more than $100,000; however, do you think the group will take a rest? Absolutely not! JustFundKY has committed itself to bringing you quality annual events guaranteed to provide sheer entertainment. And don’t forget that the money you spend on each event is not just entertainment expenditure but is going directly toward a noble cause: the creation of the first umbrella fund designed to give financial backing to LGBT advocacy groups. Superb entertainment and a charitable donation…How can you beat that?

This year JustFundKY has already assembled a flawless team of organizers to create a revolutionary night of dinners and dancing. September 20th will see 60 concurrent dinner parties taking place around the city of Lexington. Each dinner will offer its own theme, menu, and adventure. The best part is that paying for a seat at one of these dinner parties will gain you access to the night’s shining feature: a spectacular dance party!

At the conclusion of each dinner party, the participants will come together at the Bluegrass Dance Hall overlooking Phoenix Park for a dancing experience like no other. The experience will showcase musical fun for savvy dancers and wallflowers alike. JustFundKY expects over 1,000 people to show up at the dance, which means if you’re not there, you’re obviously square (no offense to self-proclaimed squares).

So, keep an open eye for upcoming announcements and mark your calendars for a revolutionary night of dinners and dancing!

Hello! I think that this may have been the first time that "drag queens" spoke at the Combs building... 2000 or 2001.
