Besides being a successful author, Barry has held a covert position with the CIA's Directorate of Operations, been an attorney in an international law firm, and spent time living in Osaka and Tokyo. Pretty goddamn cool, huh? (Maybe I shouldn't say "goddamn" as this is an Easter address.)
Barry is the creator of the character John Rain, who the San Francisco Chronicle has called "The most charismatic assassin since James Bond."
If you go here you can download the first chapter of the latest in the successful John Rain series, Requiem for an Assassin. I've been reading it on a bench down the bottom of the garden, and crime fiction doesn't come more mean, lean and honed than this.
