Cheers, Sara Artist Opportunity/Call For Submissions: 2008 Berkshire Fringe Seeks Dynamic New Works for the Stage Bazaar Productions has announced the release of open applications to the fourth annual Berkshire Fringe. Over the last three years, the festival has hosted more than 100 performers and presented three-dozen new works that have blended genres, represented new styles, and delved into traditions underrepresented in the mainstream. We are dedicated to supporting the work of emerging artists. The 2008 Festival will feature 21 days of dynamic new works of theater, dance and multi-media performances by diverse artists from across the United States and right here at home. The 2008 Berkshire Fringe will take place during July and August. Six companies or individuals will participate. All artists receive: -A state of the art theater space -Housing on our beautiful campus -Assistance with marketing and publicity, -Free tickets to all performances and events -Extensive support from technical and front of house staff -50% of box office sales If you would like to learn more about the application process, or have further questions, please visit us at www.berkshirefringe.org or e-mail me directly at sara(at)berkshirefringe.org The deadline for submission is February 1st, 2008.

The Toronto Fringe Theatre Festival, Toronto's largest theatre festival, is entering its 19th year of providing emerging and established artists with an affordable opportunity to produce a play for an enthusiastic audience. As a leader in the development of innovative and cutting edge theatre, The 2007 Toronto Fringe will feature the work of more than 130 independent theatre companies from Ontario, across Canada and around the world in ten theatres in downtown Toronto. Applications are now available for download on our website at www.fringetoronto.com for our 60-minute, 90-minute, KidsVenue and Bring Your Own Venue performance slots. All artists and theatre companies are welcome to apply to the festival and for the application fee of $700 (660.38 + 39.62 GST) and $600 (566.04 + 33.96 GST) for KidsVenue applications, each company will receive: - seven performances in a fully equipped venue with 90 – 200 seats (up to 8 performances for KidsVenue companies, up to 11 for Bring Your Own Venues) - one technician to assist with their production (Indoor and KidsVenue only) - complete box office and house management services - Festival associated publicity - and most importantly, 100% of their box office revenues Ontario, national, international and KidsVenue participants are selected by lottery. NEW!: The deadline to submit an application is 6PM on Friday January 12, 2007. By the end of the 2007, the Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival will have hosted over 1,700 independent theatre productions and will have returned over $2,500,000 back to the participating artists Many of these productions have gone on to future successes including several Dora and Chalmers award nominees and winners.
