They've been on MTV, toured with Manson, and still it's like Ours has been my own private band for so long. such passion, such artistic integrity. I remember Gnecco explaining in an interview about just making the music and enjoying it, and not worrying about when he was gonna get a break or deal or make money or whatever. And I believe he was telling the truth and never changed from that state of mind. Some of the shit he says at concerts, from live tapes i've heard, as well as a lot of the lyrics, are just so open and heart-warming and brave. When he sings things like Saint, he talks of the inspiration he's received from others, and I hope he knows that in turn he's become a source of inspiration himself. And because of all this he doesn't seem like a distant character from some band to me, he seems like my best friend who I've known all my life. The lyrics are inside my head and I feel comforted
