'Busking over Byron' Competition

Have you ever wanted to perform at the Bluesfest, one of Australia's most acclaimed and respected Festivals? Are you an unsigned aspiring artist? Well here is your chance 'Busking over Byron' Competition promoted by Anita Colenbrander Entertainment trading as ACE is looking for talented performers to entertain at the 20th anniversary show. The best Original Band Competition offers the winner a spot on stage while winners of the street performer's competition will be invited to entertain on site during the 5 day festival.

The 'Busking over Byron' competition will be in its 7th year in 2009. Formerly known as Blues over Byron Busking Competition, it was started by the Byron CBD business community as an incentive for people to come into town to enjoy the blues over the Byron Bay Easter weekend. Through the years the town has been treated to some phenomenal talent gracing our streets and pubs as entrants give their all to win a spot on stage at the Byron Bay Bluesfest. Over the years the Busking Festival has grown thanks to our local business input and of course our major sponsors Bluesfest and Bundaberg Rum.

Along with the experience to play on stage at Bluesfest 20th year anniversary festival other prizes for best original musician include recording and mastering to the value of $2000 with studio 301 & a Bundaberg Rum Trophy. Runner up will receive $500 worth of music equipment plus other cool prizes. Best street performers will receive entry into the Byron Bay Bluesfest to perform around the site plus other great prizes.

The competition heats will take place at The Railway Hotel, Great Northern Hotel and Beach Hotel from Monday 6th April 2009 to Wednesday 8th April with the Final on Good Friday at the Beach Hotel 10th April.
Winner of the Best original musician will play on the Apra stage
