"He Bought Me a Soda and He Triued to Molest Me in a Parking Lot!"
Volume 2!
Last year the first volume of this "collection of illustrations inspired by lyrics from those songs that get stuck in your head all day" was a great success and people had a lot of fun interpreting their favourite lyrics!
You can download the first volume as a free pdf here:
http://www.soundofdrowning.com/soda1.html
So the time seemed ripe for a Volume 2!
The specs are the same; artwork should be A5 300 dpi. As well as a limited edition artbook of the project there will also be another free pdf of the book, which has been downloaded by a good thousand people so far.
So give vent to those earworms and get sending those submissions to the contact details on this page:
http://www.soundofdrowning.com/Contact.html
I'm really looking forward to seeing this years entries!

Please remember to stay healthy and eat plenty of vegetables. They are nature's gift to any organism with a mouth.
See you soon my friend, Reuben.
PS: Would you like to come around to my burrow for carrot soup on Friday afternoon?

Oh yes, and thankyou for your kind words about my poetry!! Its true, I am perhaps the greatest living poet in Gosnells. I have been called the William Wordsworth of Gosnells.
Its great to hear you have been walking around the Lake District! that must have been very artistically inspiring. I have never been to the Lake District, but I do get inspiration by walking around the Crazy Clarks carpark. Which is not the same thing I know, as there are probably more flowers and things like that in the Lake District. And lakes as well. There are lakes in the carpark, but they are mostly lakes of vomit.
Actually, the area has often been called the Broken Glass District. And as I have said, I am currently the only major poet operating in this area. One day I may meet a bogan Keats, an ocker Shelley, or a Southern Western Australian Suburban Sir. Walter Scott, and I will not be the loneliest poet in Gosnells, but sadly I doubt it.
In the meantime, I continue to Wander Lonely As A Boy Trapped In Gosnells (one of the many titles of my breathtakingly haunting poems.)

.....courgette, I say zucchini,
It’s just a small difference, it’s very teeny
you say zucchini, I say courgette
please let’s not argue, please let’s not sweat
Please let’s just eat it because I can’t wait
Zucchinis, courgettes, I think they’re both GREAT!!!
WOW!! Reading my own poem has reminded me how great zucchinis are AGAIN and I'm all hungry once again, I'm going out to eat every single one in the entire state of Western Australia!
Go well my fellow vegetable lover

OH!!! ZUCCHINI!! I LOVE ZUCCHINI! Sorry, I got confused because I live in Australia. You reminded me how much I love Zucchini, I forgot to eat them for a long time.
Since you reminded me, I went outside and cleared every single garden of all its zucchinis/courgettes in a fifty mile radius. Then I sat down and composed this brilliant poem about how great Zucchinis or Courgettes are. Of course it's a brilliant poem, that goes without saying, cos after all, it was written by ME.
Ode To The Zucchini by Reuben
i’ll write a poem and i’ll try to rhyme it
about the greatest food that grows in a temperate climate
people think you’re a vegetable, but you’re actually a fruit
with your little flower you look quite cute
zucchini or courgette, my favourite squash
you are a delicacy that is not too posh
when next to a cucumber you are often overlooked
but you are so much better even when cooked
you can also be fried, steamed, boiled, grilled or stuffed
people say theres too many of you but I can’t get enough
on the list of Britain's favourite culinary vegetable you are ranked number ten
i’ll list your virtues again and again
in salads, in Thai food or in a souffle
I could stuff you into my face everyday
when cooked for too long you become rather gooey
but that is alright if I’m making ratatouille.
zucchini, courgette, whatever you name it
if a meal doesn’t work you know you can’t blame it
if something went wrong it must be the basil
zucchinis are great and never cause any hassle
whether they’re yellowish, whether they’re greeny,
whether they’re called a courgette or zucchini
they are the subject of this great song
i have heard they can grow three feet long
three feet long! imagine that!
you could eat it for days and not stop to chat
whatever you call it depends on how you’re feeling
whether you’re in Australia, the U.K. or New Zealand
but whatever you call it just doesn’t matter
As long as it’s served on a plate or a platter
you say cou

What is a corget sir? Is is a vegetable I have not eaten yet? Can such a thing exist?? It sounds like a cross between a corgi and a cigarette. But I would prefer it was a vegetable whatever it is. No way am I putting some weird dog/cigarette hybrid mutant thingy in my mouth. Especially if I became addicted and had to go onto the patches. Give me a nice carrot instead any day sir.

Hullo sir. Sorry I haven't visited for a long time. I met Prince Charles once, he was outside my burrow talking to my carrot patch. I told him to get lost. Loon. I don't need royals coming round trying to confabulate with my vegetables.
Recently I went to an art gallery in L.A. where they have important and deeply meaningful art. Unfortunately there was a snobby art expert crocodile there.
I hope you are well! Love Reuben X
