Stet Lab takes place this coming Tuesday (April 14th), upstairs @ The Roundy.
The event will feature the fantastic Katie O’Looney (who you may recall from her brief-but-dynamic cameo in February) on drums and percussion.

The evening will also mark the second appearances at Stet Lab by OPKA—Owen Sutton (drums), Paul Dowling (bass), and Kevin Terry and Andrea Bonino (guitars).

An event not to be missed, it’ll be a great way to ease out of the holiday.

The latest issue of the online magazine eartrip includes, in its accompanying mp3 compilation, a sample of Bruce Coates, Sarah O’Halloran, Neil O’Loghlen and Han-earl Park performing at the December 2008 Stet Lab.

We’re happy and honored for a performance at Stet Lab to be included on a collection that also features Alexander Hawkins, Dominic Lash, Ilia Belorukov, Styles Kauphmann, Skarabee, The Improvising Clarinet Ensemble, Anthony Whiteford, David Curington, Graham Mackeachen, and The Cambridge Free Improvisation Society.

Hey Sarah. Yeah, this is my first time on this thing in about 3 generations. So you're lecturing now? Where? How's it going? Music tech's all good fun at the moment. Mostly. Some really crap lectures, but yeah, good fun! There's a QUBe gig tomorrow, which I'm not playing at, but looking forward to immensely. Robin's written a piece for it, called 'Acid Love'. Woo!

The Quiet Music Ensemble Ltd and Deep Listening Institute Ltd present the 18th Annual Deep Listening Retreat, facilitated by Pauline Oliveros, Ione, and Heloise Gold. It takes place in Cork, Ireland between June 29th and July 4th as part of the Quiet Music Festival. Deep Listening is an approach to sound, listening and performance developed by composer, performer, and theorist Pauline Oliveros. Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for adding me! I really enjoyed the tracks here. I love all the gorgeous tactile sounds in Buzz particularly. Funny thing but I never encountered Pauline Oliveros and Deep Listening at all before this week. Have been reading all about it.Of course she was in london last week while I was still oblivious. I'd love to know more about the retreat you did.

i just watched the box... congratulations on that! it sounds beautiful but the idea of getting in touch with the sound whenever you like... it's close to conceptual perfection.

have you thought of placing more than one in a room? maybe you don't like the (implied) political dimension that would arise in such a situation.
