Hey, this coming Saturday Feb.
28th, we're having our CD release party at The Rutledge in Nashville. We've worked so hard on this thing, and we are really happy with it.
We're doing a special deal for all our Nashville fans, CDs will only be $5 at the show.
You guys are much appreciated for helping us continue to do what we love to do.

Opening the show at around 9:00pm will be Fuel to the Fire, then we play at 10:30pm, then The Mothership: A tribute to Led Zeppelin closes the show with a bang.

COUGAR FIGHT

Relapse

Self-released

Cougar Fight singer Ben Morton was once the leader of Llama, a jammy acoustic outfit that was one of Nashville's great rock/pop hopes, putting a couple of discs out with MCA before calling it quits five years back.

A couple of the Llama guys decided to grow their hair out and take it to 11, forming no-frills Southern rock group American Bang. Now Morton, too, has turned up (and adopted a tougher animal namesake), but while this trio's debut EP is worlds heavier than Llama, it's just as sensitive, inspired and surprisingly melodic.

From start to finish it's at once epic and frantic, a mesh of jagged rhythms and thoughtful, despondent melodies. It sounds like the kind of stuff Muse would make if they a) were actually inspired by the prog-rock bands they name-check and b) were more talented.

There's no reason for local fans of that brand of brainy, emotive rock — and trust us, there are a lot of them — not to be frothing at the mouth over this stuff. The band's kept a fairly low profile until now, but hopefully Relapse will spur them to start raising it.

Cougar Fight celebrates the release of Relapse at 9 p.m. Fri., April 11,
