Operation...and the crew played “Waltzing Matilda” Sea Shepherd send off protest.

On Monday, December 7th 2009 at 3pm meet us at the Dupont Circle Metro (Q St. exit). We will then march to the Japanese Embassy at 3:30pm.

On the anniversary of the Japanese military’s bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will begin their new campaign "Operation Waltzing Matlida." Many have witnessed the brutal and heinous campaign of the Japanese government against the protected whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary from “Whale Wars.” Now Sea Shepherd ups the ante and launches an even more aggressive campaign to stop the Japanese government’s attack on whales. This year the Japanese whaling fleet will be targeting 935 Minke whales and another 50 fin whales. They have also threatened to add humpbacks to their quota.

We are demonstrating at the Japanese Embassy to bid bon voyage to the Sea Shepherds and to send a clear message to the Japanese government. Their illegal exploitation and bloody harpoons will not be tolerated. They are committing criminal and murderous acts, which they disguise as “research” and yet sell as food. The violence against whales that the government of
Japan has committed is a shame to Japanese peoples all around the world. We must stand against illegal whaling because nobody else will and the whales desperately need our help.


For the whales and for the crew, Japanese Embassy we are coming for you!

This is a legal demonstration, signs and banners will be provided. Come out, bring your friends, and be a voice for the voiceless and some good shoes to walk and stand in.

In case you are late, the Japanese Embassy is a quick walk from Dupont Circle up Massachusetts Avenue (2520 Mass. Ave. NW DC). Though try not too be late.

I understand that the Netherlands has no plans to remove the Dutch flag from the ship Steve Irwin operated by the anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd, junior transport minister Tineke Huizinga told MPs on Friday, news agency ANP reports. Japan had complained to the Netherlands after several violent confrontations between the Steve Irwin and Japanese whalers in February in which both sides reportedly rammed the other's ships.Research by the shipping inspectorate showed both sides had broken international sea rules, the minister said.

cant wait for season 3 of whale wars!! once again i will devote my fridays to watch that great show! ideas to make money for campaign cost : you know that "warning warning" recordin off those stupid japanese boats. i know u guys have clear video footage of that recordiing!! i know many people around the world want that as theyre ringtone!! im pretty sure u guys wud make alot of money sellin that as a ringtone.lol. i know its a dumb idea but jus pitchin ideas!!
