Support the Indianapolis songwriter community!

Hello there! If I've already been in touch on this please bear with me but I'm trying to get the word out about www. indianapolissongwriterscafe. com

I'm working to create a place that ties together all the people, places & events that are relevant for an Indianapolis songwriter or a fan of this kind of music. There's also a community calendar (that needs a lot of dates added to it) that will soon be a one-stop shop for any songwriterish shows going on around Indy.

Please visit the site and if you've got a moment please add www. myspace. com/indianapolissongwriterscafe to your friends list.

If you'd really like to help spread the word I'd be grateful as can be if you copied the little piece of code from either the ISC website or myspace page to display the banner on your page. Just drop me a line if you'd like to but aren't sure how.

Just want to remind everybody that your old buddy Cary Allen Fields will now be hosting The Free Zone every Saturday night from midnight-2AM from here on out.
I will be followed by Tim D. spinning some good old Grateful Dead from 2-3AM.
As you might expect, I will be leaning towards Americana and roots in the playlist. And you had better bet you are going to hear you some local artists (as in, FAULTLINES!!!) when you tune in every week.

We're sick up and fed and tired of not having a consistent indoor venue here in Indy for the red-headed stepchild of the music scene that is Americana and good acoustic music.
After 5 years of beating our heads against said wall we're taking suggestions (but not prisoners) as to how we might work within the community to establish a place to see bluegrass, folk, traditional country, western swing, gypsy jazz, old-time, Celtic, cajun, or some good ol' country blues any old night of the week.
And...
Would a Birchmere, Old Town School of Folk, or Station Inn approach be more your group's critter of choice?

HELP PUT THE STANLEY BROTHERS IN THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME!

Ralph Stanley has received many well-deserved honors in the last few years, yet one honor eludes him. While many of their fellow musicians and singers have been recognized by The Country Music Hall of Fame, THE STANLEY BROTHERS have been sadly -- some say criminally -- overlooked.

Jeanie Stanley, youngest daugher of Carter, and fan Kaye Hill have organized an on-going petition to change all that.

"The Country Music Hall of Fame recognizes those persons who have made a significant contribution to the country music field," says Hill. "The Stanley Brothers helped lay the foundation for what we have today. Their names deserve to be listed among greats like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, who have already be recognized."

You can join their efforts in one of the following ways:

Contact the CMHoF directly:

Mr. Kyle Young, President
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
222 Fifth Avenue South
Nashville TN 37203

Or, if you prefer, you can send a letter to Kaye Hill, who will forward them to the HoF.

D. Kaye Hill
PO Box 2553
Harrisonsonburg VA 22801

Kay says, "a simple one-line note is all that would be required, but please remember to supply your name and address, and an email address if applicable. I will be collecting all letters and forwarding them to the Country Music Hall of Fame."

"Don't you think it's time?"
