I dont know about the rest of the people that are friends here...but I never really realize sometimes that Crohn's Disease does exisit outside of me. I never really have met anyone with it - or knew as much about it. But, I guess there are more people out there - and worse than I am. I figured I would write a comment expressing that maybe Crohn's is much bigger than I once thought - and that this site is a good place to type up anything Crohn's.

Thanks for the add...
After going to the doctor for 4 years crying about how much pain I was in, and after them telling me it was "normal" pain.. and telling me it was in my head... I was at a wedding and passed out, my husband rushed me to the ER and I woke up with 7 doctors standing over me telling me I needed emergency surgery that I was dying... I woke up to this scar and the removed my intestines, I was only 24... I lost my job, I lost my house, I lost everything and am living in my mom's living room now... All because of Crohn's Disease. And I can't eat without getting sick, I can't go through a day without migraines... And they told me it was in my head, It's not fair! If I had cancer I would have a chance to recover.... but this just keeps getting worse... Everyone needs to spread the word, its not in your head, don't let your friends or family end up like me... !! Spread the knowledge!

Hi Josh..I just designed a new tattoo. I am going to have a purple crohn's awareness ribbon done on World Crohn's and Colitis Day. It fits my personality ,and will be a 365 day reminder for all who see it.
Think I'm crazy????

I'm gonna be taking part in a clinical trial pretty soon, for Prochymal: an adult mesenchymal stem cell treatment being tested for Crohn's that has been given a fast-track status by the FDA. It has shown great promise, and with basically no side-effects. Many who've tried it have achieved remission. So, for those who've been holding off surgery (like me), this --or a variation of it-- may be what we've been waiting for! Look into it.

Josh..this is what I did for World Crohn's and Colitis Day. The koi fish represents strength and courage in the face of adversity ( my crohn's and other health problems) it is swimming upstream, so that represents that I am still struggling and have been for the last 37 years with this adversity, the blossoms are beautiful flowers that represent the fragility of the human spirit...they also grow into beautiful flowers from the darkest dankest water, and there are three awareness ribbons..one for crohn's and fibromyalgia, one for Rhuematoid arthritis and one for panic and anxiety disorder. I am getting it colored in this fall after gardening season..I dont want to wreck the ink job outside. Its already very empowering. The guy who designed it was an apprentice of a guy who died last year and he had crohn's.

hey josh. ii haven't been on your site for a while but i caught your message and i just read through your 2 new sites. it was the first time i heard about humira so that was really interesting. im not in very good health at the moment so i'm considering these two options. i've never had a problem with needles but i just had m appendix out and during the two nights in hospital afterwrds i had a bad experience with needles so i might have a hard time trying a new drug.
well anyway i beleive youve had a birthday recently so happy birthday. hope you had a good time.

Hello Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well and in good health. I receive many
e-mails and questions on our MySpace page about the drugs Humira and
Remicade. Some of the questions I can answer, some of them I can't.
Plus, everybody is different, so my experiences with Crohn's are
different than someone else's experience with Crohn's.

With that said, the True Guts team and I have developed two new forum
websites. www. crohnshumira. com and www. crohnsremicade. com. Here people
can post questions, share experiences, and find comfort and support as
they deal with Crohn's. I am proud of the team for putting these two
sites together and I look forward to each community growing. Please
check out both sites and use them. They are a great way to gain
awareness about Crohn's Disease and a place for you to let out your
frustrations, concerns or even success stories.

Sincerely,
Josh Golder

Hi, Everyone -

My doctor just put me on Entocort, Cipro and Zantac until I have a CT scan to see if I'm a candidate for either surgery or Remicade. I'd love to hear about people's experiences, side effects, etc. with both Entocort and Cipro. The Cipro I'll be taking twice day (500 mg tablets) for a few months. The Entocort is 3 3MG a day. I HATE taking meds. I had been off of all Crohn's meds for the past few years, and now it's all catching up with me. Thanks!

P.S. Feel free to email me at my regular address: thezionzoo@yahoo.com

Hi everyone! i have a little question to ask! here goes: I am 19, and have been with the same (and only Pediatric GI in alaska) doctor since i was diagnosed 11 years ago, but he is leaving state and its time for me to go to a grown up doc. does anyone have any tips for a smoother transistion, to feel comfortable with the new doc? i have problems telling them how i feel and whats going on "down there" with fistulas and stuff, and i was very comfy with my old doc. hes already changing things, and i dont want them to. anyone else gone through this? its especially hard right now, im in the middle of a bad flare up, and yeah. yuck. thanks guys! Oh, also, has anyone heard of any other drug out there thats like humira/remicade? ive run the course of remicade, and the humira (im on 2x the dose) is getting weaker too. im so scared im gonna go through all of them. message me please.

Hi everyone,

I am just curious if having crohn's disease automatically eliminates you from being able to do a law enforcement job? I read that the military will not let someone join if they have crohn's disease for example.

Hey guys!

To everyone who reads this and is going through what I am right now, I need to talk to people.

I am going to be having my first surgery. After being dignosed for a lil over a year, I have to have my whole large intestine taken out and have my small bowel reattached to the rectum. This will all be completed in one step. I have never had to go through anything like this before, so this is why i want to talk to people about this. Please let me know..

Surgery is on Jan 21, 08... Everyone, please!!!!!

GREAT NEWS FOR ANYONE FACING THE HIGH COST OF HUMIRA FOR CROHN'S!

If you have insurance and it is still not quite enough to cover the cost of your Humira, Humira has a program to help us! The program is called Co-Pay PLUS and is a Financial Assistance Program from myHUMIRA.

Feel free to email me if you would like more info. I called a friend who works for Abbott Immunology and I told her that I was not sure I could afford the Humira-even with my insurance. She said that Abbott just launched this program and she sent me an enrollment card.
The program covers $1000 for the first month, and $325/month for the next 11 months to help out for a year. You can apply to re-enroll after a year.
Hope this helps--
