dave	Feb 13, 2009 7:06 PM see, my gf has a facebook, and if i join facebook it looks like i'm doing it to keep tabs on her. plus, one social network dominating a decent chunk of my 20's was enough thank you. also i don't like facebook. it's formats are eerily designed to stoke the inner stalker in 14 year old girls. the carrot on the stick is that the network is designed for women to compete for the ideal life. it basically is set up so girls can check up on people from fhs daily and compare their lives. i guess myspace was too, but it seemed less in your face. i've noticed myspace tryying to mirror this idea with the updates on my friends and it sickens me. I really don't care that someone i met once in a bar in spfld has uploaded a new top 40 tune to their profile, or that they uploaded pics of themselves whoring themselves out to some dude who is one hollister sweatshirt away from having the whole catalog in Cancun. i just can't do it on a matter of principle.

dave	Jul 23, 2008 4:04 AM picked up warren ellis' crooked little vein today. report to follow. just finished more's watchmen again. i read it at doug turners when i was 15. picked it up again from some some small comic shop in albuqurque. i liked the idea that my copy should originate where nuclear weaponry has already left an idelible mark. my local comic book guy said it is to be made a movie in '09. some of the predictions in the book are eerily cassandra like. if you never read it, i'd recommend it.

dave	Apr 15, 2008 12:47 AM that would never have happened in the nhl of yore. avery would never be allowed that close to the crease without a hit. IMO, we don't need more "new" rules; what we need is a return to the clear the crease physicality.

dave	Feb 16, 2008 3:15 AM kind of a focus on the music.. less so the lyrics huh? i mean.. it's there.. but it seems like he came up with it and then they spent some tim e on making the music hit. agreed it's good, but i think we are biased. but i think even critics will like this one. it has enough of the music for them to get distracted by the lyrics enough to actually pay attention to them this time. of course when have critics done anything for anyone or anywhere?
